哈哈哈，陳家亮也尋不住氣

都忍咗三年，舊年又玩埋UGC，醫委會及教育局，上星期搞掂哂，終於沉不住氣！

50步笑百步。兩位身為本地最受人尊敬的醫學院院長。唔將時間、精神放在好好教育自己嘅學生上。竟然選擇持續、公開互相數落對方。於我而言、兩位都係 cheap 精😡。講完。

也有很多人負擔得起，如自己可，比較一年學習英國2.4鎊=約25萬，應足夠一般性的IB學校，另IB校內分比例高，好看老師手鬆定手緊，連自己心動孩子回港報IB

不如問番醫科教授咁喜收IB狀元及IB生，加大家詳細分析，連電視之前有訪問42分医科IB生，冇提副學士，HD或AL可入醫

佢地不知幾醒，點會唔知，根本係針對 IB。

My daughter is a DSE candidate of this year.   She got 46 marks (7 subjects) & 40 marks (4C+2X).   She put medicine as A1 & A2 choice and have attended interview of CU & HKU in May & Jun respectively.   She has received calls from both university after the interview.   

The information she received from the university staff were similar :  If you don't put us as your first choice, you may not able to join us.  As such, from our view, the two universities have similar arrangement to attract & threaten top candidates to join them.

However, the discussion forum here seems to have no of unfair comments and bias towards HKU, may be there is a lot of CU alumni here.   To me, the way they put on facebook was also a way to "market" themselves & disparage the others.

In fact, I like CU better while my daughter prefers HKU more after attending their information day around Oct.  However, after reading the CUHK Medicine face book contents, I changed my views & doubt about the demeanor of Dr. Chan &  the accuracy of his contents.  Since my daughter's classmate got 41 marks out of 42 marks in DSE, her classmate is also a top student but hasn't received any calls or invitation as mentioned in the face book.   As such, friends here should not just listen to what everyone says but rather should focus to the facts.

DSE admission is very different from IB.
I think what Dean Francis Chan said was an IB student.

Very good "first hand" information about the keen competition and strategy amount these 2 faculties and their heads. No one is  better than the other morally and integrity. However,  people sometime just try to believe what they want to believe about hearsay.

Since we are talking about medicine, may be we should stick to the information about medicine.
50% was the percentage of NJ of CUHK Architecture in a specific intake 3-4 years ago. I do not think CU Archi still take that many NJ. And in any case, that is another program, not medicine.

Hearsay would be twisted at some point.
And now it proof how information can be mis-communicated.

The case Dean Chan mentioned was an IB student. IB students go through NJ admission and NJ is very different from DSE.
IB students can have multiple offers in Hong Kong.
DSE students can only have one offer and thus how they rank the choices would make a huge difference.
