Welcome guys!

我個仔2018先考大學，不過而家Y11選A level 科目學校已提及大學選科，所以都開始留意，身邊亦有好多朋友仔女呢兩年考大學，可以互相取經。大家嘅仔女係咪都只係考慮英國同香港嘅大學？我就想阿仔考慮埋德國大學。德國應該理丶工科強，啱佢，仲要免學費。不過阿仔好似只想響英國讀，又吾like 德國又吾like 返香港，我想、慳＄都幾難。

你仔仔目標高，你應開放埋美國ivy league 大學給他選。

佢吾鍾意美國，話自己paranoid of guns. 佢嘅性格係好規行矩步嗰隻，比較適合英國德國。
But thank you for your advice, 身邊都幾多朋友嘅仔女target at 美國一綫/ivy leaugue 大學。

GCSE 讀書便可, A level 讀書 + 靈活運用, 而且課程範 ...

Conditional offer 中的要求應該係final grade 吾係predicted grade? U mean your friend's child got 3A*1A for predicted grade? Or it's the requested final grade from HKU?

想問一般要咩成績for GCSE and predicted grade for GCE, 先可以得到Oxbridge 的interview 機會？一般conditional offer 係幾多A*幾多個A?

阿仔lower six 讀5科暫時未見佢好忙，仍然有好多活動同leisure time, 剛剛exeat跟學校團去咗Edinburgh.

不過學校已好積極安排seminars about 準備大學applications. 又見physics 同maths 老師send emails 叫阿仔參加national physics and math challenges 校隊嘅甄選，話對UCAS 有幫助。但阿仔懶懶閒，又話自己唔夠香港名校過去嘅仔爭。

我諗佢如果要申請top U, 佢個profile for personal statement 未必夠照。佢除成績不俗外，有入 school sports teams, 有代表下house for inter-house competitions, 有每星期參加學校的community services, that's all.

而家我躊躇緊下年暑假比佢去上有關大學subject 嘅 advanced summer course (probably in US top U) 好吖？定係安排related work experience 好？邊樣對personal statement and interview 較有幫助？有諗過兩樣做哂，但朋友話佢暑假會忙於準備Oxbridge 入學考試同interview，有好多extra reading 同past papers 要操喎。大家可否比d意見？thx!

如果你話oxbridge, 又唔算多past paper 要操wor...我覺得working experience 比較重 ...

佢未諗掂。而家讀緊double math, physics, chemistry and history. 佢話可能take chemical engineering, but he actually does not know what it is

Yes exactly that's what I've told that since Cambridge requires entrance exams now, the applicants need to prepare more than just the interviews by doing past papers as well (on top of reading and work experience).

Just got email from his physics teacher recommending them to take "head start" courses at Uk universities in end June (only 4 days). Seems it's a good opportunity for them to try and taste the academic and lifestyle of their target courses as well as universities? Though I doubt if that would add credit to their PS.

其實阿仔仲有連續五年參加johns Hopkins University 響香港搞嘅 academic summer camp, 唔知有無用？應該寫入PS?

Ic. 剛同阿仔通電，佢又收到學校email 關於Yale Young Global Scholars, 係可以summer 去Yale 讀一個課程, 文丶理科都有得揀，有科applied science and engineering 好似幾啱佢。但就要甄選，佢話有興趣喎。
我問佢係咪真係咁想報Oxbridge,因為要extra 付出好多, 個暑假又要extra reading for interview, 又要prepare for entrance test, 我叫佢諗清楚。一係唔好報，要報就要比心機同落力。
