SPCC's strategy to kick out incapable students at G11 looks effective to maintain good exam results. Any parents know the class size of SPCC, 6 classes for 147 students?

可能好多學生已 提早跳船 讀 IB 或 前往 海外 升讀 High Schools, 避免做白老鼠

The first batch of IB will be in 2013, so no effect this year.
In the past, I have the same idea of overseas studying. But one of the SPCC parents told me that just one G11 class, they kicked 5-6 students out because they failed more than 2 core subjects, they are forced to study overseas and not as planned.

Most of them use 4+ as credit or above  (I think 5 equivalent to C of HKALE) and their results more on 2 or 4 above. It's meaningless to me.
I use Excel to summarize those info now, many schools' info are incomplete and focus on how many 5**, also misleading.

No surprise that famous schools will ask some underperformers to leave... it is happening in many famous schools.

【本報訊】首屆文憑試考獲七科和六科5＊＊優績共有31名狀元，今年有出產末代高考狀元的拔萃男書院、拔萃女書院和庇理羅士女子中學，昨通通無所出。男拔承認有約20名考生中文未達最低3級，升讀資助大學止步。有學校解釋，有不少優異生「跳船」轉讀國際教育文憑（ IB課程）或到外地升學，避開成為首屆白老鼠，出產狀元機會大大降低。

今年有五名考生考獲七科5**，成為首屆超級狀元；另26人也以六科5**成為狀元。數學科設有必修和延伸部份，考生應考兩部份，會有兩個分數，最高都是5**。考試及評核局前日公佈上述狀元人數統計時，只計算其中一個數學科成績。若合計兩個成績，則女拔兩名五科5**考生，可以「升呢」變狀元。
男拔今年有140多人應考文憑試，依考評局計算法，最佳成績是五科5**，未能誕生狀元。校長張灼祥表示，首屆新高中有40多人轉讀 IB課程，另約30人出外升學；他們不少是成績優異，令出產狀元機會大減。
張灼祥表示，有六成多文憑試考生考獲升讀大學資格，「算係可以接受」。不過也有約20名，在中文科未能取得升大學的最低3級要求，他認同有需要提升學生中文水平。
