拔萃女書院兩名學生考獲6科5**佳績

首屆中學文憑試今日放榜，5名考生考獲7科5**或同級水平，成為狀元，分別是4男1女。

以往多年在高考及會考出產女狀元的拔萃女書院，今屆雖然沒有考生考獲7科5**的最高成績，但仍有兩名考生，考獲6科5**佳績。其中張瑗恩在通識及化學科，考獲5*，她表示，計劃為這兩科覆卷。

張瑗恩表示，能否因覆卷而成為7科5**狀元並不重要，不過認為有覆卷機制便不妨一試，她會以平常心等待覆卷結果。

拔萃女書院校長劉靳麗娟表示，學生在今次考試的英文科，考獲4級或以上成績的學生，佔整體學生98.7%，而通識科則有86.8%，她對學校今屆成績感到滿意。

九華有45%英文5或以上，比起佢難兄難弟得10多個%，就算比起CCSC36%，單是英文看來都算有交代了。

唔知其他有冇大躍進呢？

HKDSE Results 2011/2012
The College is pleased to report that overall the results of the boys hard work and effort was very pleasing. There was great excitement when result tables showed we had achieved one of five 7 x 5** but after analysis we discovered it was with a Maths Module which the HKEAA said would not count. Nevertheless many students were successful in achieving 4, 5, 6, and 7 subjects with a 5, 5* or 5**. As always some deserving, hardworking boys were disappointed and we feel for them. In summary most subjects had a 96-100% pass rate (2 or better) with particularly good results in English, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry. Teachers are pleased with Liberal Studies results with over 96% achieving a passing grade. In general the results reflect our HKALE results of the past few years. The Colleges top achiever was LAM Tsang Lung David with 6x5** (7x5** with M2). Pictured with 4, 5, or 6, 5** is LAM Tsang Lung, LAM Chin Ting, LAM Kai Shing, WONG Ho Kar, CHAN Chuk Lun, HUI Ming Kit, LI Victor, SO Chun Hin, TSANG Kin, WONG Kin Yee, LEUNG Yiu Fung, MOK Ka Long along with Andy YEE and other sportsman who achieved extraordinarily well. Assuming all P.6 students going to WYK is Band 1 (i.e. top 33% of students), the outcome that most graduating students are in the top 37% of all F.6 students is only natural.  Nothing spectacular.

You assume that all the students can be kept at the same level from S1 to S6. It is impossible. Some must be forwarded while some must be downwarded. The degree of changes heavily depends on the quality of teaching in WYK.

Note that  while many Band 1 schools have achieved =excellent results in English subject, the performance of Chinese Language subject is not satisfactory at all. Why?
