cmir, I remember there were still seats in K3 earlier.  And one of my friends will give up k3 a.m. seat.  You are still struggling between K2 and K3?

You are so right.
After looking at those statistics (no. of baby born in 2007 & 2008), i am quite worried.
For so long time, i have ready my son to repeat K2, and didn't do any preparation for PI interview.
But the numbers really tell something, even he's a big boy next year, he still have to compete with few thousand more ppl.

Yes, I have also read those statistics.  There are 10% more children in 2008 than 2007.  What was the original reason you would like your child to be a big b?  Was it just for P1 application or was it for his long term development?  I personally think that 10% more competition is not too much provided that he should be much competent and confident as a big b.  For example, if there is 1 out of 10 children to get an offer for a school this year.  Then next year there should be 1 out of 11 children to get an offer.  The difference is not that big in my eyes.  The most important thing is that why would you like your son to be a big b in the first place.

feiji, thank you so much for your sharing.

We are still thinking which will be better for my son? repeat K2 or P1?
For repeating K2, he has only one chance for P1 interview. As my son has only 15 pts, we are quite sure we have to take the lucky draw. If he's really unlucky, he still has chance to go for P1 interview on the next year for DSS or private school.

Struggling.....

Just wondering what are the main reasons for changing to Ramondi after studying inK1 & K2 in another school?

I heard that the headmistress once said Ramondi Primary will take 75 kids from this new Ramondi KG.

How many seats for P1 in Ramondi Primary? What's the percentage of accepting kids from K3?

Would Ramondi Primary assess or interview Ramondi KG kids before accepting them? Or is it direct promotion from K3 to P1 with no further assessment?

How about those kids not accepted? Where do St. Judes KG kids usually go?

Anxious to know......

cmir  Some of us would like to repeat, and some think Raimondi KG has an advantage to get into the primary section. There's no thru train school in HK island for boys.  發表於 12-6-12 14:32

Cmir, in my point of view, repeating K2 has less emotional impact on the children, ensure their readiness for P1 so that they can have an easier beginning, and let them enjoy longer happy kindergarten life.  Although they would have only 1 chance to apply for the DSS and private schools and the lucky draw, anyone else also has one chance only.  Also, if he is in Raimondi Kindergarten, as a big boy, the chance to get into its primary section should be high I think.  Anyway, wish you all the best. :)

If Raimondi offers you a place and if you want to take it, you need to give up lucky draw.  If you want to go for lucky draw, you have to give up the place at Raimondi.  You can also apply for other private primary schools though.
