hello mommies and piano teachers,

my girl is going for grade 2 exam this Sept (first time). Both she and me find the pieces and scale very difficult.

I want to ask what is meant by "Arpegio"? How to recite them, one by one or is there any more efficient method? Also for chromatic and broken chords, what do they mean and how to recite them more efficiently? Actually what is the purpose of learning all these things, just a matter of testing kids memory or is it useful in future when she sits for higher grade?

都係彈琴技巧，一味靠操，雖然好悶但將來學上去有幫助的

你無跟鋼琴老師？如果你淨係望住份譜彈有咩音就彈，老師話點彈就點彈，Scale係無用
但如果你係有心學音樂(學鋼琴其實係一種樂器俾你學音樂)，Scale係一種方法增加樂理知識(死記例外)
例如G大調，你會點記？死記一個SHARP?
其實你彈G 大調Scale (即係以G做do 音)，你會發現彈F唔彈F#的話，做唔到do re me fa so la ti do中的ti，所以要用F#，咁你就記得G大調係有F#，F#即係G大調。
其實有樣野叫做「五度相生法」(定係五行相生法，凡請高人指點)，
每個SHARP之間係差五度，即係C Major(無SHARP)同G Major(1個SHARP)差五度(只係簡單講，仲要數白子黑子)

Arpreggios即係琶音(聽完仲唔明，HAHA)
二級係in root position(根音)，其實係每個大調的do me so和小調的la do me
你記得個每個調有幾多SHARP or FLAT，就會搵到每個調的DO ME SO

Chromatic指半音，即係彈哂所有黑子白子

Scale彈咩音係唔使死記，你明白個原理就得，要記的係指法

I understand (from book) that major means whole tone, whole tone, semitone, whole tone, whole tone, whole tone, semitone (2,2,1,2,2,2,1).
how about minor? what does it mean then?

chromatic means does not matter whether it is whole tone or semitone? just simply press all black and white keys?

and what does broken chord mean? there are 2 broken chord required in grade 2 syllabus and my girl found these extremely difficult to memorize. any tips?

這些樂理問題，不如請老師教一教囡囡啦。照道理老師會邊教邊講解的，可能小朋友第一次聽不明白？請老師再解釋多幾次給囡囡聽啦。

相信樓主是位負責任家長先會開呢個post，可能囡囡年紀小，上琴課未必能完全catch up 老師的說話，琴試是practical exam，只是紙上談兵，樓主會有好多follow up questions，很難單靠呢個post解說清楚。

如囡囡在琴行學，不妨問下家長可否額外付費陪上堂，可行的話，請琴老師安排某幾堂教授囡囡唔明白的部份，樓主付費陪上堂幫手記，樓主也可即場提問囡囡練琴時出現的問題。以上是我小小愚見，希望樓主唔好介意。
