男拔IB生近全數獲取錄

男  拔  最  近  公  布  首  屆 IB 文  憑  課  程  準  畢  業  生  提  早  獲  大  學  取  錄  的  結  果  ，  近  百  分  之  百  學  生  獲  有  條  件  取  錄  ，  校  長  張  灼  祥  對  結  果  感  到  滿  意  。

　　  (星島日報報道)拔萃男書院首屆國際文憑課程（IB）的學生將於本學年畢業，男拔最近公布，接近百分百準IB課程畢業生獲本地或海外大學優先有條件取錄。男拔校長張灼祥表示，對結果感到滿意。另外，男拔IB課程昨截止報名，有超過八十人申請。張灼祥表示，下學年暫不考慮加學費。

　　  男拔於二○○九年首推IB文憑課程先修班，該批學生將於本學年畢業。男拔最近公布，自二○一一年十一月起，該校首屆IB文憑準畢業生陸續收到美國及英國的大學通知，可獲有條件取錄，截至本年二月十七日，已有二十二所來自香港、英國及北美的大學，提早為男拔IB文憑準畢業生提供有條件學位。

　　  男拔校長張灼祥昨表示，在四十四名首屆IB文憑準畢業生中，現有四十三人獲有條件取錄，比率接近百分之百，他感到滿意，「幾乎所有學生均被取錄，而且不少提供學位的海外大學甚有名氣，成績都算不錯」。

　　  向男拔IB學生招手的海外大學，包括英國著名學府倫敦帝國理工學院（Imperial College London）、倫敦大學學院（University College London）、華威大學（University of Warwick），以及美國著名學府紐約大學（New York University）等，課程包括法律、工程、經濟、金融、數學、建築及哲學等。

　　  在本港方面，香港大學、中文大學及科技大學均有向男拔IB文憑準畢業生提供有條件取錄學位，男拔於公告中特別指出，港大及中大分別向今屆非聯招生提供「Fast track」及「Advanced offer」方式，提早取錄優秀學生，這也是該校IB文憑課程學生報讀本地大學的優勢。

　　  另外，男拔的新一屆IB文憑課程昨日截止報名，張灼祥表示，校方接獲超過八十宗申請，「申請數字已超出現有的六十個學額，接下來我們將視乎申請人是否適合而取錄」。他續指，雖然男拔營辦IB課程首數年有虧蝕，但學校不打算明年加學費，IB課程每年學費將維持五萬八千元。

Conditional offers still conditional, the actual offers are more critical and reflect the real standard of DBS's IB.

A boy got PG in 40/42 and had a chance for interview in HKU Medicine (MBBS), after the interview, he got an conditional offer 41/45. In IBDP, he got the actual score as 41/45 or above, he can have the MBBS place. If below 41, say 40, it means he cant fulfill the condition 41/45, he can't get in MBBS.

I am more interested to know the conditional offers % by local universities and what is their conditions.  It is not surprising for elite school like DBS to achieve 100% conditional offers if including overseas universities.  Hope you can share when you have more info.

DBS needs to go through different hurdles to prove their IB capability:

1. Input students;
2. Staff qualities;
3. Predicted grades vs actual grades;
4. Conditional and unconditional offers;
5. Actual grades and grades of different subjects at different level;
6. % of Bilingual diploma; and
7. Final offers.

The, we can see the IB program thoroughly and can benchmark with LPCUWC and Sevenoaks (UK).

Tradition is tradition, old boys and current students stick to Boys...
I prefer co-edu in IB.
