我之前又係唔識D字ga,但係我喺買俾囝囝既故事書,認字咭同VCD學到呢5個字!!!自己因為要教他而增值不少!!!
在場的兩個朋友是大學程度他們都唔識解,某些更唔識讀!!!話見都未見過wor !!!
見到我又識讀又識解他們也不禁覺得我好勁!!!!!!!! hahahhah!!!我本身得中五程度咋!!!教學相長ma!!!!

My son knows these words from those alphabet book.

astronaut is learnt from the playgroup
i is for igloo
o is for ostrich

Just the word in sound and knows what it means only, not yet the spelling la.

He has learnt zebra, zip code, zip zag, yummy, yo yo, yacht...racoon..raincoat, elf, hide-and-seek, donghnut, dinner... sister, brother, alligator..ant ...etc. from the same alphabet book (in a series).  

Try to let them read and they can learn a lot lor more than you thought ga.. Don't belittle the little brains!!

Yes! I learnt "pee-ka-boo/alligator/itchy/baboon" from my daughter's book.

我以前都係唔識的，一直到生了囡囡後開始找合適的讀物、圖書比她看時先至從那些兒童讀物中學會。

其實只要做父母的在小朋友日常生活中續少、續少的教，一年裏面小朋友都可以學到不少生字了。

而且在選擇讀物比小朋友時，父母都要熟讀故事、書本內容先可以同小朋友講、及溝通無阻啊。

I haven't seen that program 新聞透視, I also wanted to have a look.

Personally, I don't think that means anything.
If you know all those words in K1, does it mean your English is very good?  On the other hand, if you don't know those words, does it really mean your English is very bad.

About 2 months ago, my 2 years old girl saw the above web-site nearly everyday.  It was introduced by a BK member.  I just do it for fun and my girl really enjoy watching and keep on asking for some more.  She will say "Octopus" whenever the "O" comes out even before it pronounced.  However, when she takes MTR with us, she won't tell us there is OCTOPUS too.

So does it really means anything is you know all those words?  If you want, you can also show that website to your very young kids.  Anybody can learn.

Knowing these few words alone does not mean anything. We can teach our children what they mean within half an hour. Yet since these words are so common in children books, it reflects how widely our kids read and how good their language is.
