Thanks for your response. Does it really work?Will kids refuse to learn Chinese since Chinese is difficult to learn? I heard many failure cases. Any sucessful examples can give us some insights?

我見一般中文都唔係好
一般在國際學校，中文叻的學生，都係以往曾在 LOCAL SCHOOL  讀
如果真的是從 P1 就讀國際學校的學生，一般中文水平都是麻麻

我見鄰居的外籍小朋友說得很好的廣東話和普通話, 他們都是日日有台灣人來家裡上兩三個小時.我問他們的老師多少錢, 他們說500一小時, 是台灣人來的.

我也很想自己小朋友像他們一樣, 可以真的沒有哪麼多時間.

新加坡國際，中文水平較其他國際學校較佳。因為中文有默書/測驗，當然比local school淺。

另外，可以學Kumon 中文。

我一些朋友安排子女讀IS的,他們大都不喜中文,亦需要安排補習.

FYI,單從語言來說,中文是比英文難學的.

When I was little (studied in local school of course), Chinese is the least important subject from most parents point of view. I think it still app ...

我覺得就算你要求低,你都要寫到簡單的短文,否則根本難以閱讀中文報紙,講得到也不會流利.

个人经验如下：

小女二年级，因觉得学校程度较浅，故此自一月开始，每个星期与程度相若的另外2位同学一起跟其中一位家长学习1.5小时语文。因为所学的非针对学校的课程或考试，所以要再过一段日子才可以谈效果如何。

但有一点是可以肯定的，就是孩子们都享受和喜欢跟自己的同学们一块学习中文（而非补习）。

要很坚持才可以. 但往往是中途放弃了.

My son is now in Year 9. Some of his schoolmates are successful cases who can maintain excellent (native level) English and good Chinese (similar to band 1 local school). They all start to study IS from the very beginning.
They all like to read books, English and Chinese, and maintain excellent levels of Chinese during primary school.
What I observe is that: they are all committed young adults, & disciplined themselves to learn and to excel.
There are successful cases, but rare. I don't know if they are born like this or because of family commitment and education, or both.

請問除了CIS,本港還有那些IS比較注重中文教育(如果教繁體字就最好)?

ESF係教簡體字(除了其私校RC),新加坡國際學校亦是簡體字,耀中是用繁體字.CIS如何?

CIS uses 繁體字 for teaching. But in secondary, the school accepts students using 簡體字 in composition and writing essay if they learnt  簡體字 before.

听说CIS中学部很多学出外升学，所以yr6开始会接收很多其他学校的学生，是真的吗？

是否这个原因，他们才接受简体字的学生呢？

不过，众所皆知，CIS是出名难考的学校之一，被学校收录的学生肯定是拔尖生。
