Other than buying the books and the uniforms for school.  I think we may need to let them psychologically prepared to be back to school after this long holiday.  I have just started to tell my kid that her holiday is going to be over and she will be back to school soon.  She is excited when hearing that she will be back to school soon but upsetted to hear that the teachers and the classmates will be different. Another thing is we may need to begin to adjust the get up time of them.  My kid still wakes up at around 10:30am-11:00am, which is quite difficult to adjust when school begins......a headache now.

Chens, I dare not let my girl to 打流感針 as she was tested allergic to 蛋白 when she was just a few months old....now, she can eat egg ( I mean also the white part), but I still dare not let her inject this vaccine as I think injecting some protein into the blood is different from eating.

帶口罩? - no lah, I don't think the children will wear it throughout the class.  I think you only have a choice between letting her go to school or NO only.

【明報專訊】8月中開始，各間幼稚園陸續開學。孩子第一次揹起書包上學去，爸媽當然充滿興奮和期待，然而，對初次接觸校園生活的小朋友來說，就難以如父母般高興。在他們眼中，離開親密的家人，獨自面對陌生的教師和同學，並不容易。不想孩子天天上學以淚洗面，開學前，家長要做足準備，慎防孩子患上「K1恐懼症    」。

在幼稚園開課的第一天，站在校門前，不難聽到小朋友的哭叫聲。初次上學的孩子，平均只有兩三歲，面對完全陌生的環境，加上可能是首次跟父母「別離」，難免會因適應問題而哭個不停。

別說「不要怕」

聖公會幼稚園校長梁玉心表示，開學時，常見有小朋友扯著父母衣衫不放，即使是性格十分活潑開朗的孩子，也可能出現這種行為。對此情况，她認為父母要以平常心面對，否則會愈弄愈糟。「上學是孩子的必經階段，如果父母過分緊張，經常向他們提著上學時要怎樣怎樣，要乖要聽話等，反而會為孩子帶來壓迫感，應讓孩子感到上學是一件很自然的事，不用時刻提醒他們『不要怕』。」

莫談交換條件

她建議，開學後，父母盡量把孩子的生活維持在常規狀態，這有助孩子適應。「在開學的日子，父母不用刻意請假陪伴，因為若父母平日根本不會特地請假陪伴孩子，他們會更加捨不得離開父母，或以為父母要帶他們上街，但原來他們要上學，因而不開心。父母可在晚上減少外出應酬，多留在家中，讓孩子知道回家後便可看到爸媽，明白上學後，生活跟從前並沒有太大改變。」

很多家長每當送孩子上學，準備離開時，一看見孩子哭，便會留下來跟他們「談判」，提出交換條件。梁玉心說﹕「若孩子哭鬧時，父母開出條件來哄他們，會令他們覺得下次可繼續以哭鬧換取父母開條件，這種利誘方式應盡量避免。另外，父母緊記在離開前跟孩子道別，千萬不要不辭而別，並要告訴他們放學時會馬上接他回家，當然，爸媽要準時前來接放學，以免他們感到不安。」

她亦請家長不用過分擔心孩子不停哭鬧，影響他們的學習情緒。「有些孩子雖然一邊在哭，但他們仍會跟隨教師的指示做事，或者聽教師和同學說故事和唱歌。一般K1的教師會預備很多道具，例如布偶、故事書和小吃等，吸引孩子的注意力，只要孩子一分心，便會忘記哭鬧，慢慢投入其他同學之中。」

第三天才哭鬧

首次上學的幼兒因緊張或驚慌而哭泣，邁步兒童發展中心註冊臨床心理學朱嘉麗表示，這是十分正常的事。「就算小朋友以前有上playgroup，也未必能立即適應幼稚園的生活，因為playgroup多數會讓父母跟孩子一同到課室上課，但K1卻不可以，令他們覺得幼稚園這個地方跟自己認識的環境很不同，很不習慣。」

未能適應這個新學習環境，小朋友最常見的反應是哭鬧，有些上學兩三天後情况漸改善，有些孩子在頭一兩天上學並無異樣，可是突然在第三天上課時哭鬧。朱嘉麗說，這情形可能是因為小朋友之前一直忍耐著，但後來卻忍受不了，以哭泣來表達他們的不開心和焦慮。

不過，若孩子上學已有一個月，仍出現哭鬧或其他問題時，家長便要了解一下原因。「孩子除了因為跟父母分離焦慮而出現一些情緒問題，也有一些語言表達能力稍差的孩子，上學時感到緊張卻未能表達，導致他更加緊張；也有一些本身有社交溝通問題，因為未曾試過密集地上學，父母之前未曾察覺得到，在正式上學時便表現出來。」

預習上學情况

要減輕孩子初次上學時出現的焦慮和適應新環境的不安，家長可參考朱嘉麗提供的幾種做法：

1. 在知道孩子將要上哪間幼稚園後，早點帶他到訪或到附近看看，讓孩子適應新環境。

2. 教導孩子自理技巧，例如自行上洗手間、抹嘴、拿杯子喝水等，甚至預習點名舉手，讓他獨個兒在學校要處理這些事情時，不會因不懂得而緊張。

3. 以圖書或布偶等道具，教孩子上學時會遇到的情况，例如要說﹕「老師早晨！」「我要上洗手間」等，讓他們真正有需要時，懂得如何放膽說。

4. 在開學前三四個星期，調節好孩子的作息時間，令他們習慣早睡早起，適應學校的生活。

5. 向孩子介紹上學用品，例如「這是你的書包、校服」，讓他們有心理準備上學去。

Same same same. My son is exactly same as yours. He said that he doesn't want to go to school too. Always watching cartoons & DVD. I told them he will go to another BIG BIG school with many schoolmates play with him, then he say 'Yes, I want to go to school'. I will bring him to go to school to collect his uniforms next week, hope he is familiar with the school envirnment soonest....

I think I'm more lucky, my son miss his classmates so before he already asked me, "why the summer holiday so long? I want to go to school". What I worry is if his best friends maybe not in the same class

Now they wake up at 9-10am, just afraid how they could wake up on that day.  Well hope you meet you guys on 1st Sep.

Mine still wakes up at 10:30am today ah, I have asked my maid to try to adjust my girl's wake up time half hour each day earlier starting from tomorrow..........hope it works....though I have no confidence : )

Luckily, my girl always wakes up at 7:30-8:00 with 8 hrs sleep at night, and 3 hrs sleep during afternoon.
