我小朋友讀york架! 不過去1st in既時候, 我見到有好多st. cat既小朋友(見到佢地本手冊), 不過我諗同讀邊間幼稚園係無關係架! 中一派位係派返同區既中學, 識得有個岩岩陳守仁畢業既派左去九龍華仁書院 .

My daughter also got 2nd int.  She is from Tsung Tsin Kindergarten (International Stream).  Don't think is related to any kindergarten but mainly depend on your child ability.

Can I ask if anyone know the different between mainstream and french stream?  Can french stream switch back to mainstream if being accepted?

did anyone know that total of application of 1 st in??

The total no. of applicants was around 2500.  Those parents should be very proud of their kids for getting shortlisted.  The school conducted the interviews mainly in English.  They did not look at the profolios which were made by parents.  The kids made the acheivements on their own efforts at the interviews, great job!

我個仔同我講1ST IN時老師比幾幅PICTURE佢, 要佢用英文講個STORY出黎, 中文就叫佢抽一張卡出黎讀, 佢抽到"拍手", 但就唔識讀個拍字喎! 但唔知點解佢出到黎又識同我講佢唔識個"拍"字呢??

did u submit the profolio to TSL ? i thought it didn't accept any profolio.

No, we did not submit the profolio.   What I meant was that TSL did not even bother to look at the children's profolio, and only focused on their interview performance.  However, this may not benefit those kids who are equally smart as the good interview performers.   
My son did not remember clearly about question(s) which were asked in Chinese.  I guess the Chinese question(s) may not account for a lot of marks.  He goes to an English kindegarten and around 70% of kids from his school who applied TSL got selected.  Their school language environment might have helped them perform well at the interview there.

我囝囝入到陳守仁2nd int., 可惜同培正面試時間撞期, 而家都唔知點算好, 唉, 真係慘, 上次失落於英華已經好唔開心, 而家有得2nd int. 又去唔到, 真係無奈到嘔~

Be honest, I am a careless father who did not do too many research on the school before sending the application form ... it is embarrassing to ask, perhaps a little bit late, what makes this school so popular that 2,500 pairs of parents applied this school for their kids?

I don't want to promote the kindergarten here as there are things we don't like about this school too.  We believe it is the language environment that helps our boy and his classmates become comfortable communicating in English.  They have two class teachers, one of them is a NET, who is dedicated to their class whole-time.  We have a neighbor whose son goes to another kindergarten with the same arrangement, and their son is shortlisted by TSL too.  Anyway, Don't underestimate children's abilities to pick up a second language.  The best way to do it is to start as early as possible.

The followings are some of the reasons why TSL is so popular :

1) teachers are caring
2) most pupils enjoy their school life
3) most pupils are confident
4) extensive English environment
5) low school fee

I could see the allocation summary posted on a bulletin board in the waiting area on the ground floor where the "extra" parent waited during the first interview ... there you will also find the samples of the school uniforms pinned on the neighboring boards.

Frankly, it's not a very impressive one, and it's quite tricky that it is the result for 2 years (2006-08).  That's really makes me think twice on this school.  

Any comments??
