From Y2 on, the MOI would be English and PTH only. For junior years, homework has never been an issue. But I reckon a lot of time and efforts are required of students of senior years, esp for project work, etc.
If you are concerned about the two languages, CKY stands a better position in terms of teaching resources (more NET teachers) and the 'immersion environment'. The spoken and listening skills of CKY students should compare favourably to most of local schools. Put it simply, you are more likely to hear students in CKY communicating in English and/or PTH than in local schools. I dare not say CKY is 'better'. But it's fair to say that it has its way to live up to its bilingual education.
Back to the topic, more consideration should be taken on the 'planning' for your kid's education, as St Mary's and CKY would lead different paths. CKY students are heading IB while girls at St Mary's can opt for the local NSS.
