ESF Kindergarten

I want to know is there no interview for kindergarten. So how they select chirldren as I think it will be so many applications. Anyone know?

No interview at all. As far as I know, they select the student base on priority. Foreigner first, English speaking family second then local student. First come first serve in the same ranking.

No need to queue, just post out your application on late-late Sept. If you like your kid has no homework and no pressure. This kindergarten is highly recommended.

Kindergarten Application Procedure

Each Kindergarten is happy to receive applications in accordance with the table below:

My child was born between:  Submit application from: Start Date in K1 class
Jan - Dec 2004 :1st Oct 2006 :September 2007
Jan - Dec 2005 :1st Oct 2007 :September 2008
Jan - Dec 2006 :1st Oct 2008 :September 2009
Jan - Dec 2007 :1st Oct 2009 :September 2010

You may only apply to one kindergarten - families living on Hong Kong island must apply to Sheung Wan Kindergarten. Families living in the Clearwater Bay, Cheung Kwan O, Hang Hau and Sai Kung area to Abacus Kindergarten and all other families residing in Kowloon or the New Territories must apply to Tsing Yi Kindergarten

I thinks we could not compare between ESF & local school, it is totally different for both parents expectation and for kids.  Don't expect yr kids know writing before kinder grad, but on the otherhand, they leave much.

You should also try YMCA at TST, it is also int'l kindergarten.

No need to worry about 鬥家底鬥名牌 in ESF's group. It might happen in Kingston, 耀中 etc. I know some parents classify ESF is the cheapie international school in HK. That's is another reason I like my daughter study there. Because I am cheapie.
Besides the school fees, there is no other fees. Even no need to buy any text book for them. My daughter was study at ESF-TY. 90% were chinese. But most of them talk in English in the campus. To ensure your daughter speak more English. Surely, it is better to provide more chance for her to speak and listen the English after school.
老師definitely won't 對d家底不太好的學生白鴿眼, because they even don't know who you are.

Congratulation jessicalau!

I have same question as liulokyi.  Would you pls. share with us when do you submit the application form?  I also read the  ESF website saying that the submission date is 1 Oct.
