YCIS emphases using mother tongue (e.g. cantonese for most) to teach and learn. Also they have a higher proportion of mainland parents. Due to these reasons, some parents shift to Kingston (but seldom the reverse).

YCIS 有好長WAITLIST, 你唔係ITLP或2歲班入基本上唔使諗可以入到, 當然, 佢地用廣東話同英文, 同Kingston用英普唔同

好睇父母想小朋友學到什麼先？想先用廣東話教導小朋友較親切些，同剛剛入學2歲小朋友來講是容易明白，而Kingston 是一半英語另一半是國語來教，都好受歡迎！因為選擇得呢2間學校，通常母語是英語或國語！我對小朋友現在耀中讀2歲全日班，一班有24位小朋友，大部份小朋友都精通英語同net teacher溝通，現在到學期尾，99%直升3歲班，得1～2位走，所以都好full!

I know kids who study in YCIS since playgroup need to take extra English course, and have difficulty speaking English. So I think it is quite depend on the kid and the family's background.

Actually both school of you don't join from their playgroup or 2 years old class. it s difficult to join later since no one leave.

我想問下耀中INTERVIEW 係唔係都好大機會收？通常IN 什麼？你的子女在耀中讀成點？小學會唔會比佢繼續讀？

有得interview,99%是會收！除非你同耀中理念不同!Kingston就不一定收硬，校長會選人。我的子女返校好開心，學到自理，自己食飯，著鞋，洗手，聽故事，近排唱成首bear hunt song,同消防員救火，唱整首ABCsong,k1我們轉了另一間全英國際幼稚園，希望他們會習慣!

Kingston 由pg起要付$8萬的債券(2年前)
,現在好似要$10萬(不知是否3年)，到小學再付債券，當年放棄是因為無全日，只得半日班！現在新的學校每日有30分鍾普通話！我個人覺得會比到較好英語環境给小朋友，國語慢慢來，要好睇父母想什麼語言學校教學生，每間學校的老師都好有愛心教導。
耀中3歲是除咗中文用國語教，其他都是英文教，如果有錯，請更正。

As i said above, those leaving the schools are mainly due to the inadequate english environmnet in school and the relatively high proportion of mainlanders, seldom did i hear it was because of the quality of education etc. If these 2 factors bother you, then you must of course think twice.

Becasue Kingston students are almost all chinese (including about 10-20% mandarin speaking chinese) , i would imagine the english environment to fall short of schools with lots of native english speaking families (e.g. woodland etc). But as compared to YC, it is far better as there is a tendency for students to speak english among themselves, and most end up having better english than chinese, esp for those who intend to move on the IS route.

Kingston's english should be ok to pass esf requirement. But very few Kingston parents opt for ESF as most consider chinese important. Some (guess 1/3) will eventually go to LS.

Also, given esf kinder graduates will have priority for esf primary and there will be one more kinder opening in tung chung, it will be virtually impossible for non-esf kinder or non-siblings to get into esf primary unless you pay the $500k nomination right.

But if you go to kingston then to esf kinder, then your levy of $100k will be quite wasted. You might as well go to other kinders eg. anfield. Of course, the other plus of kingston is the back up primary if you do not get into the IS primary of your choice.

I would like to know which school is LS? I already pay 100k levy, and the location of ESF kinder is so far away, therefore I choose Kingston.
I interviewed YCIS today, they accepted my daughter but the time is crush with kingston.
