當然無kv及sc咁難入啦.因為睇interview都無咁多人啦.雖然lee間學校開辦咗唔係好耐,但我有朋友囝囝讀緊,佢話lee間學校都好全面.講真名氣當然唔及kv及sc啦.
間間學校都有佢既fans,亦都會有小朋友入名校.所以都係順其自然啦.

i think that the competition for k1 place is rather keen
many mammies like HKPS because of the alleged relatively high entry rate to DBS for boys

moreover, the school has 2 yr old class, and all those students have priority for their k1 place (though some will shift to the other kg, like me )

My son is studing 2yr old class in HKPS but accepted 08 K1 by both KV and SC.  I'm still making my hard decision.  All are good kinder!  Any comment?  Pls help...

I am also waiting for the results of HKPS.

I think one of the considerations for stay/leave HKPS is to think of your kid's personality. If your kid is a timid one, small-sized school may fit. On the other hand, if you think your kid adapt well in large class and large school, you should choose SC/KV as these two have good reputation and long history.

If possible, release your K1 place in HKPS asap once you decided to leave. I asked the teacher after interview that there are only 90 seats for K1, if 60 kids from N1 stay/hold the seats, only 30 seats are for outsiders, so few...

You really think SC and KV are so difficult for offer a place? You know SC have been sent out almost 4,000 appliacation form and of course would not exact applicant went for the interview because personal reasons, and last year they offered over 800 place both in Norfolk Road and Essex Road, that means the ratio is 5:1, not that really difficult la actually...

Sometimes I think people only aware how many applicants in the interviews but ignore how many place the school can offer....

如果跟SC 及 KV相比, 樂基的確較難入, 因它的學額實在少, k1的新生多數只獲下晝班的offer.  當然也有例外, 去年也認識朋友的兒子考獲上晝國際班.  不過不要氣餒, 若取得下晝班offer的話, 可不斷去信要求轉讀上晝, 幾年來都有成功例子. 去信時最好有pn or playgroup的良好學習報告做reference, 考慮機會大d.  (去年小兒考hkps要到七月才獲知能轉讀上晝班, 不過那時我已決定放棄.)
但若第一階段只獲waiting list的話, 請面對現實, 因學校會到七八月之後, 甚至開學後才call waiting list上的家長, 機會較細.

Yes I agreed!  HKPS is even difficult!  That's why I really want to stay through K3 but I also like SC very much.  Sometime I feel that HKPS has less pressure.  For PN to K1 or even K2, I think it's ok but for K3, I'd prefer some pressure for kids to adapt Primary school.

Sorry Haileyyu, I missed out your question!  My kids isn't in GF class and I'm still thinking of SC or HKPS.  I think I won't choose KV coz my son pretty likes western people.

if boy , goes for HKPS, if girl goes for SC. As HKPS have very high rate to DBS.

Exactly same case with you but I did pay KV for the $660 coz I don't want to make a wrong decision for my son.  Well... Just in case...  SC or HKPS?  I'm still thinking and this is the tough decision that I ever need to make.  Even tougher then getting married  :

As I knew, last 2 years HKPS has 8 boys/yr were accepted by DBS and I guess they might have quota from DBS/yr.  However somebody told me last wk that this yr might be not that good but I still need to clarify this.  SC is quite agreesive this year, higher garanteed and I feel that they might have also changed their module a bit since last year.

I think the only difference compare with SC and HKPS is kids would have a happy + less pressure study environment in HKPS whereas at SC, kids could see the higher competitive + more or less the "actual World" (not that protective) and that might be good when P1.  Do you know what I mean?

Your word is hardly believable.  No one could guarantee you to get into DBSPD in any "proper way".  (Even CCKG!)
But I do think that the performance of HKPS is good and some of the kids are suitable to DBSPD.

Just take it easy.........noboby can garrantee anything. I also heard from my friend (from education field) that even CCKG cannot give garrantee, too! If both preference are more or less the same, then, just take ur own feeling.  Which acceptance letter made u feel more excited?

Of cause no one could guarantee but we need to talk about the ratio.  HKPS is good and the ratio is also high.  My son is studying at HKPS and I also think this is a good school!  When P1 interview, we all know that kid's performance is important but which kinder they from would also affected!  Talking about the band 1 primary school, HKPS:DBS is high but overall, SC:band 1 PS is overall good even they have many students/K3.  That means they provides higher confidence for us.  Anyway, that's hard to choose coz I like both schools!

Frankly specking, when I received the acceptance letter from HKPS (PN), I felt more excited then this time  (k1).  This time I only applied KV and SC for experiences.  I didn't think that they all accept my son and beforeI think I would stay in HKPS until graduate.  Human is like that, when I received KV and SC acceptance letters, then I feel headache!  I think many parents having the same situation as me and that's why I need to compare their pros and cons...
