Princeton及Yale不及UC Berkeley,想不到呢。不知Ranking怎計法?當然無論怎計,哈佛都是第一,不過清華比港大科底,復旦只高城大三rank都出人意表。

這是好幾個星期前的新聞，評選分5方面：大約是師資、paper之多寡和影响力、師生比例等。

我反而對北大比港大高感到意外。以師資、paper之影响力而論，香港大學一向lead住大陸大學一條街。

有分析指可能其师生比率比香港低。

其中有一項(不知有没記錯)是對外之吸引力：可能National U of Singapore 吸引了大批馬來人，所以有分加。

Judy, 港大資源是北大的多少倍?不用明言了。不過若北大港大同時錄取,可能應取北大,不為甚麼,只為証明是尖子中的尖子。將來入美國大學硏究院也容易些。

I think the score 1 and 5 are most important. Score 1 rather reflects the reputation of the U while score 5 reflects the academic level of the U. California Institute of Technology may be the best U in research.

I know there are 2 girls, one got the scolarship from MIT is graduated from DGS and her sister graduated from Berkerly is from Marrynoll.... They have extremely good prospects in carrer now.

比較北大和港大，你會發現一些趣怪形象;

1.Citations per faculty:北大，3, 港大，50。
2.Peer Review :北大，322, 港大，96。

以論文被引用之次數來說，港大勁北大那麽多。但反而Peer Review 北大叫港大高。

不知先讓那些Peer看看實際數字，再問同一問題，結果會否改寫呢？

還有一項：Ability to bring in the best academics from around the world，港大74， Harvard (17)，  U of California(6)，MIT (US) (13), California Inst of Tech (US) (19)。

港大競争力高得出奇。
