月入多少才會讓孩子入讀IS呢？

無錯，就算ESF，雖然學費已經係差不多所有IS中較為平，但學校所在的區域，學生家庭的背景可以差好遠的，如ESF Peak school，好多家庭都係住house，仲要係山頂D house.....一D都唔普通，呢個catchment的範圍可以去到羅便臣道、干德道、堅尼地道等，住呢帶屋企本身都多數中產以上啦，但同住山崸D house compare，都有分別，當然又有好多富豪唔鍾意住house，邊比較得咁多。不過，我亦理解有些父母唔想子女自卑的心態，好似我有朋友兩公婆夾埋每月搵唔少，但兩個出身屋企環境唔好，好多家庭負擔，生活富足，但住屋各樣都唔係會特別奢侈，比得起錢讀國際學校，比得起錢買ESF NR，所以可以選擇哪一間ESF，佢都覺得Peak Sch好，但佢哋都會擔心個仔如果去咗D學校好多有錢人的話，個仔會比較同埋自卑，所以揀時都揀間平民少少的ESF。

My girl one day told me she did not like Mainland Chinese because of their rude behavior reported in HK media. I told her, it is just media's interpretation of them. Even if many of the Mainland Chinese in HK are indeed like that, it does not mean every Mainland Chinese are like that. I told her I knew a number of very polite and good-natured mainland Chinese. I also told her when we actually get to meet a Mainland Chinese person, a classmate, etc, we should evaluate their behavior and do not jump to conclusions.  If we loathe a person simply because of his race, it is discrimination.

Some people like to do stereotyping.  I guess certain stereotyping is fine, eg, Germans are very organized, or the English are born diplomats. When we stereotype people, we must remember we are talking about character of a group of people or a community. When we do meet a German or an Englishman, we have to evaluate their merits individually not taking the stereotyping for granted.

Over generalization is NOT fine, especially taking one or two negative cases and try to generalize to the population. Of course IS and LS have certain fundamental differences but over generalization is not useful.

All these things could happen in any schools in HK. There are good schools and there are not so good schools. Both IS and LS have them. People with similar family values seem to apply to and finally select similar schools.  My principle has been to select the right education I would like for my daughter, given the offers I have. Language, IS, LS are secondary. We all should research deep into different schools and make our own decision instead of taking stereotyping for granted. Read every page of their web site, find their year book or any publication they might have. Find a way to talk to parents and students of the schools.  Search all news and articles, etc would be a good start.

其實如果屋企不是全英文，小朋友系香港生活不可能唔識講廣東話
我自己由幼稚園到中學都是讀全英文學校，每日只有一堂中文
系學校講英文，返到屋企講中文
我現在英文確實比中文好，不過中文都識講，讀，寫
我在北京工作15個月都完全無問題
我也不是特殊例子，我妹妹同我的中學同學也是如此

如果要咁同人比，我覺得做人真的好辛苦，要比的話任何地方都有得比，咁九龍塘的LS如瑪利諾都有好多富貴人家，咁又唔讀得嗎？
我自己在大學，和我做到朋友的，也有很多來自亞洲各地的富貴人家，有d有權勢到可以為我拿到那國家的passport（97時同學仔問我怕不怕，佢可以幫我移民）！但我們從來冇比較財富呢d，平時大家出外消費也不會是奢華的地方，有冇錢都好，大家都是學生，所以大家一起做的都是切合學生身份的事，完全不需要有比較。

考慮得讀IS, 就算是普通人家，也不會是基層吧，洗乜咁自卑。咁掉返轉IS的普通人家去讀普通屋邨學校，都會比好多同學家有錢（對一些基層，一般中產已好富貴），咁又點，難道又會覺得自己高人一等嗎？

如果自己是負擔得起IS學費，而又覺得IS是適合自己小朋友，但最後因為不夠别人有錢，不能每年去4次歐美遊行，不能住豪門大宅，不能每天也用不同的名牌手袋，就放棄了合適的的良好教育，我會覺得好對唔住個女！

遇過IS生很頑皮、父母又放任他們、令人以為IS生都是如此。亦遇過IS生很守規矩、放假去做義工、父母管教較嚴。乖唔乖好睇父母點教。

我反而見到好多 LS 學生，年纪小小就會人(父母)前一個樣，人(父母)後一個樣，十分可怕。

我對IS和LS system無特別愛惡，係想搵重視學術、良好英普語境和校風純樸的學校。

其實不論小朋友來自普通家庭又好, 貴族家庭又好, 大家交嘅學費都係一樣, 在學校得到的待遇都係一樣.

我自己主要是計算學費為主，也知道每年有一些其他的雜費，如到外地比賽等等，我認為是可以估算的。至於富裕家庭，國際學校無疑會比本地學校多，但是我不會去比較，孩子也知道如何處理。我們將家庭收入的大部分用以供孩子讀書，反正我沒有太多花費，也覺得值得。反而到外國讀大學所需要的費用不可忽視。
有些國際學校有提供financial aid，如果有興趣報讀，我覺得可以不用太在意同學之間的家境差異。
