依舊年情況，學校並無要求見家長。但若由父/母/父母帶其女兒入校長室面試的話，校長則會趁機跟父母閒談、問些少生活細節。當時，校長用英文跟我交談，個程非常迅速及輕鬆。我個人認為，若家長在這簡短的交談中，能加强校長對家長及其女兒的印象和了解，在某程度上是絕對有幫助的。

不過，說時容易做時難。幸好，我眼見較前面試學生的家長們都有跟校長交談，我已做好心理準備；結果都非常滿意！

In my opinion, I don't think Mrs. Lau has made all the decision of the candidate at this stage and the 2nd interview should be an important screening process.

Anyway, if your daughter can do well in the 2nd interview, she probably still has a good chance to get in. Don't worry about those rumours ....! In the interview, just be yourself and speak confidently. Your daughter may find Mrs. Lau a bit tough in the interview but when you sit down and think about DGS itself is an aggressive school, you should expect a tough principal who is the "leader" of the school. And DGS girls (and also other elite school students) have to be tough to get through the vigorious education system in Hong Kong and eventually higher education locally or abroad.

BTW, my daughter is not a DGS girl currently even though she got an offer last year.

Just the same old story, it's the choice between DGS & SPCC. She is in SPCC now.

Undoubtly, both schools are elite & reputable. My final decision is based on:

(1) my daughter's character & personalty (I think you could be fit in better in SPCC as she is quite timid & easy going)
(2) she is from a co-educational primary  
(3) got more friends to SPCC (including one of her best primary schoolmates)
(4) admission scholarship from SPCC (even though not a big amount but it is the merit that counts to me and I think it may also looks nice on her resume in case she will study abroad in future)

Anyway, no regrets on either choice for me.

Thanks to both Spanishmama & Candytl for all the information.  Seems a lot to prepare during this weekend. My daughter's interview is on Monday, then will be a huge released after that no matter of the result.  No more interviews la.

Thank you very much for your sharing.  

Can I ask that, according to your daughter's experience, is SPCC providing better resources and support to students, such as the student exchange programmes and activities ?  And how about the SPCC school campus ?

One-Mama

I got similar experience as Spanishmama.  We did go through very tough process to choose DSS, prepare for interviews of both DSS & subsidized schools, wait for 2nd interviews and finally the results and last decision!  Like Spanishmama, we chose SPCC at last.  I think our greater concern is our girl's character and a co-ed environment (like her primary one) rather the school campus.  Anyway, both are elite schools.  Sincerely hope your kids will have their favourite choice at last and more important is to let the children to have a happy & healthy school life!

Thank you for your advice, and will let my daughter to attend the final interview and wait for the results from the schools applied. Anyway, it is a good experience for her to know the importance of getting the awards and good academic results in the past.

I don't know but my daughter's school had more than 20 girls got the first interview and about 10 girls enter into 2nd round.
