It's true, to some extend
However, the reality is one has to look at the overall performance of all the canditates.... If I were the headmaster, I would 'pick' candidates in accordance with their academic results as they have the overall ranking from EB, regardless where the candidates are from. Of course, one need to take into consideration of the interview performance too!
The fact is my nephew was not from a "brand" primary school, but he is among the top five at WFN, admittedly, he has worked very very hard, so he has made his way therein!
