學生：
PreS1係用來編班。如有精英班的編制的話，學校會按成績編入精英班。

中學：
跟據學生成績，中學可清楚知道同學間的學習水平差異，以便重新編配資源，制定一些額外課程，以輔助同學的進度。

小學：
同學在PreS1的成績將會影響教局對小學升中同學的調整分。對師弟妹在排名組別有決定性的影響。

學生：

It seems a big exercise for EMB, the secondary schools and the primary schools where the S1 students come from. Presumably, the Secondary Schools would have the results of the students so that they can use them for placement of students into appropriate classes; and EMB would have the results so that relevant weights will be assigned to ranking P6 pupils in future years.  Just wonder who will do the assessment / marking of the papers, and if the Primary Schools will also have the performance results of their students who will have then been allocated to various seconday schools.  If so, EMB would have to get back the results of all studnets first and use the students' registration Nos. (i guess) to identify their related primary schools to compile the school results.  As such, the ranking of primary schools can be done.

PreS1是考試的中學自己改卷然後再報上教局。教局再將分數整理後除用作分組調整分之外，還會作不同區域的分析。
分析報告係會給回中學和小學。所以三者都清楚各自學生的情況和水平。唯教局不讓學校公開資料而矣。

上年係先考數學 09:00-09:50

               break 09:50-10:10

                英文  10:20-10:35  聆聽
                         10:35-11:10  讀寫

               break 11:10-11:30

                中文  11:40-11:50 聆聽
                         11:50-12:30 讀寫

                 解散 12:40

This year schedule is just the same:

Mathematics 09:00-09:50

Recess 09:50-10:20

English  10:20-10:35  聆聽
              10:35-11:10  讀寫

Recess 11:10-11:40

中文  11:40-11:50 聆聽

除了係一個half day test 之外，家長亦應陪同出席。在等候小朋友期間，學校可能會有一些簡介會，介紹下學校和學生讀書的情況。

我覺得放榜日和叩門的日子最好就請假陪同小朋友。如果真係請假有問題的話，其餘註冊和考PreS1都可考慮由其他成年人陪同，如果情況真係唔許可的話，或甚至可由小朋友自己單獨處理都不太難，唯需準備小量現金以應付註冊時的開支，包括：
簿費(約$100元樓下)
迎新營(約$200元樓下)
其餘校服、暑期作業、家教會入會費甚至一些校報等支出都可後補或自行在街外購買。

請問註冊日是否一定要簽統一派位那位家長陪同?
小朋友是否一定要出席 ?

註冊日最緊要小朋友出席，帶齊文件和小量金錢就可。我記得上年有傭人帶同小朋友出席。
註冊只係需要半小時內的工作，盡可能都陪小朋友出席喇！

咁...想請問一下如果學生的小學不參加派位 (所以小學係吾需要有"教局對小學升中同學的調整分"), 而將入的中學另外有自己的分班試, 咁學生還需不需要考Pre S1這個試呢？

跟據教局的指引，全港的升中一新生，都必須出席這次考試。小六學生即使選擇自行升讀直資學校、國際學校/英基學校或其他非主流學校，也要準時出席於所獲派的中學參加中一入學前學科測驗。

若對於有關中一入學前學科測驗的查詢，可以致電教局的研究及測驗發展組聯絡。

如果你的小學是有參加呈分和參與派位的，你就要考PreS1。

無去獲派中學註冊的原因：
1.有第二間學校不論直資、國際抑或私立學校取錄了。>>>>但你仍然要去註冊的，不過係去最後取錄你的學校咁解。
2.往外國升學。>>>>>>如果你係往外國升學的話，你跟本就無需要去獲派中學註冊，亦唔會考PreS1。
3.吾記得去註冊。>>>>>>>你原來的學位將會被取消。要從新申請中一入學，由教局安排尋找另外一所仍有學額的中學，並進行評核。

PreS1是在獲派位的中學考的，如果你唔去註冊，等如放棄獲派學校的學位。若你在註冊期限內能找到一間中學取錄你並進行註冊，你仍需在新的學校考PreS1。若放棄注冊，你的學位將會被取消，並喪失政府資助的資格。
