我細佬都係三大之一,仲教緊,唔知係咪一樣啦!

不過,你唔會係暗示佢hea教所以才怕評分卦?

我無咁既意思,可能學生quality 唔同
不過其實唔同系既學生quality都已經好唔同

I've just thought of one more major difference between QC and KC, i.e. the language used for Liberal Studies (not quite sure if anyone has raised it in previous posts here).  For most Band 1 boys' schools, students are in general more proficient in English (or they can score better grades in English than Chinese in DSE).  At QC (same as for LSC, SPC, SJC & DBS), LS is taught in English while Chinese is adopted for KC (and others like YWC).  I wonder what would happen if the language is reversed.

So if your child is not good at Chinese, and is believed to excel better to study Liberal Studies in English, then KC might not be a good choice for him.

Oh, forget it ....  I just remember that EDB will substantially reform the subject (Liberal Studies) which may end up with assessment results with either a passing or failing grade.  Then the language issue should not be a big problem in future.

Should the new policy be started for coming F4 students next year? The current F4 students still need to attend the examination with score.

Well, I think the reform won't affect the current F.4 students who will take the DSE exam in 2023, as it would take considerable time (at least one or two years?!) for the new exam syllabus and format to be framed (unless there is no consultation with stakeholders which is quite unlikely).

That's their preference and we should honor it.

But studying the subject in English may have an advantage - I recall the remarks made by a principal at his school's briefing session that it's their school's policy to teach Liberal Studies in English.  He explained that since many of the students would apply to the medical or law schools, getting familiar with the terms in English would help his students when discussing social issues, local and world affairs, etc. during the interviews in F.6.  Some may not agree though because not everyone would aspire to be doctors or lawyers, haha.

Be Frank, it’s not easy to handle the LS in english. There are too many specific terms and words which are not commonly used. However, if the school is strong in English, that would be not a problem for them. Their student can elaborate their answer very well. I was told by my son, word bank is really important in LS.
