My son is studying at university now. He intends to study for one semester in UK next year.
I have surfed on the internet. I gather that if the study is less than 6 months and under certain specified categories (e.g. doing a small piece of research related to your study or doing an elective if you are studying dental, medicine, nursing, etc), the student can enter via Standard Visitor Visa. Since holder of HKSAR passport does not require any visa to visit UK, the student only needs to apply for ETA.
不用apply for visa, 我有d不放心. 英國政府網站的wordings 都不是很清晰。請問有沒有同學是去英國讀書(duration is less than 6 mths), 沒有apply student visa, 而入境時是ok沒問題.
Of course when there is offer, we will check with the UK university on the visa requirement.
