請問大家有冇小朋友讀緊聖士提反(赤柱)

1.隨學費,有冇什費or其他費用?
2.書溥費一年大約多少?
3.考入去難嗎?
4.入面教學如何呢?

其實你個小朋友成績如何? 如果夠好既話(band1 頭或中), 我唔會建議你讀ssc, 如果係band2頭既都可以考慮下, 因為(暫時)見到學術程度唔係咁高, 我覺得只係屬於band1近尾. 不過轉真資後會唔會谷翻起就要睇耐d先知.
(以唔係直資既班級計)冇乜功課, 小測唔多, 唔同老師教學/比分會有好大差異...會考只可報7科, 有家長信申請而科目成績非常好(要A)就可以加多一科....校風ok, 至少附近冇7-ven冇karaOK等, 當然都有d曳學生...都有幾多有錢人學生, F.3後會有1x~2x學生轉去外國升學....
今年新收既直資學生唔係太守規距.....

Hi, I am considering SSC too. Do you have any idea the number of F1 students from SS Preparatory school. ?

Between SSC and Raimondi, which one will be better ? Please comment.

Hi, I was a graduate of St. Stephen's College (decades ago, of course!). And, my son is now a P6 student, so I am busy with school searching too.

Some pros-and-cons of SSC for your consideration. It's only my view, so if you find it nonsense, please just neglect it ...

Pros:
1) excellent campus - spacious and well-equipped. 2) lots of ECA - music, sports, art, etc.
3) decent investment in English native speaking teachers
--> So, students never get bored and the sense of belonging is very high. Students can expose to a better English environment; thus, language-wise is not bad.

Cons:
1) DSS, high school fee
2) peer pressure/competition in student's family background
3) high degree of freedom -- meaning that the students have to be very self-conscious and self-initiated, otherwise they may not be able to champion in their academic results.

For my case, I am not planning to pick this school for my son. As I don't think he is mentally matured to drivehimself in learning. But some other kids can be very matured and they know what they want/need in their early teen. This kind of kids require less teacher guidiance and less homework/exam pressure. I think SSC would be a choice for those with strong self-motivation.

...just a thought to share. Wish us all good luck in the school selection game!

My son is studying Form 1 at SSC. He studied in a traditional primary school before. I like the campus and the language environment. The school has put much resources in English and Chinese (Mandarin). He commented that he has less pressure than before when facing test and dictation now. I am not sure whether this is good or not. He is however motivated and encouraged to do better when the teachers give him postivie comments like "well done" or "good try" even though he is not really doing that well. Our relationship is better than before and I as a working mum am having less pressure as well. There are many different sports activities and my son is enjoying that much.
