我download咗,想再買多啲俾個女做. 但我在三联買唔到. 唔知邊度有得買.

入「公開考試」睇, 有討論.  我估british council 有得賣, 但超貴.  有人話去書城買(for KET, 但我估PET都有o卦?!).

據我所知, British Council 一定有得賣, 其他地方應該沒有.

不過, 可以在商務書局或天地圖書公司買到Pet 的exercise, British coucil 也有. :) :loveliness: :D

The original source of exam paper is  useful . I bought one for my daughter 2 years ago. 4 sets of past paper and a CD are included. WORK HARD on the paper and your child will get good results.

Definitely YES. My daughter studied in a DSS primary school and her academic results are brilliant in her school. However, I think secondary school teachers/ principals may doubt about the standard of her primary school. And so, I bought the exam paper and trained her up myself. She got " pass with merit' which is the highest level in PET. There are 3 levels, i.e.fail, pass and pass with merit.

My daughter, now , is studying at DGS.
The certificate is a proof of her English standard. Apart from this, school reports and other certificates and prizes are essential too.

Congratulation to your daughter's success. I hope my daughter can do as well as you daughter.
By the way, how does your daughter feel about her school? Does she need to do lots of homework? Any pressure? Thank you.

Thank you. Now she is in S2. Last year, my daughter and I both felt the pressure, partly from the adaptation from primary to secondary school, partly from the school's fame. The amount of homework is not much, but, doing homework is so time-consuming because the requirements are high. Intelligence is the key element of doing homework.

I have different view even my son had the merit of PET at P5. I don't think school like DGS, DBS, SPCC etc really care of the PET certificate, their Grade 7 standard even higher than FCE.

DBS boys will say their Grade 8 (F2) English standard can have credit or above in HKCEE English subject, DGS even better than DBS.

I heard about Cambridge English Tests are useful for secondary admission both from BK and friends years back, so we did it.

After the whole exercise and look back the admission criteria is very simple:

1. Academic qualification - ranking;
2. ECA - all-rounded with special talents, Cambridge English Tests not count;
3. Conduct; and
4. Other connection with the school.

The merit made us feel happy for a while. So.........

The English merit is and was counted automatically in the ranking system by the adjusting factor from seniors previous examination results.

That's what I heard too. And that's why my daughter is going to take the exam next month.

But I think you are right. Acamdemic result is the most important factor.

It's patheic that sometimes we parents are left with no choices but to follow what other parents do. Simply because we don't want to take risk even we know not much difference the exam would make.
