Ok , thank you for reply . 咁我想請問如果我唔係澳洲Cititizen , 我個人喺澳洲度可唔可以開當地嘅戶口呢 ...
I think so.
Bring your HK address proof, and more IDs (HKID, passport, staff card, credit card etc) as the bank will check your identity in a marked scale. And prepare a reason why u need an Australian bank acct.
If you don't hv an Australian Tax file number (TFN), and u have an overseas address, then your earned interest will be deducted by 10% automatically.
But since you are not an Australian citizen, and you hv an overseas address, you maybe subjected to money laundry, and the KYC (know-your-customer) team ill send you a letter/enail to further explore your tax residency and identity. U will need to fill up all questions quickly, otherwise your acct will be locked,
Or, if you are a HSBC Premier banking customer, you can talk to your acct manager in HK to arrange to open an Australian HSBC acct. U will then need to go to the HSBC headquarter in Central. But u still will need to go thru the KYC process later.
Just in case if u go to Australia to open an acct, don't go to ANZ as the KYC is not friendly and very pushing.
And Good luck!
