My son only has old boy priority and still got offer from y1 last year.

Alumni priority is even higher than sibling priority. My friend with alumni got the first batch of interview with the NR candidates together.

係in左唔收定in都冇得in? 就算有priority 都要pass interview才收, 如果唔出聲有機會唔收的。但如果pass了加priority 就實收。

Just speculations. ESF can change the game in several ways:

1. Change the order of the priorities in Y1 admissions (i.e. kindergarten > siblings > alumni, 1st choice will not be guaranteed for siblings especially KJS, BHS and SJS). If the older sibling is already in secondary, the younger one may end up in an out of zone primary. (They don't need to keep siblings together.)

2.Follow the transition model of primary to secondary (real through train). Kindergarten kids will do transition instead of admissions. Y1 places for your catchment will be guaranteed. In this situation, available Y1 places for central one form admissions will be the leftover after every kindergarten kid gets a place (-8xx places).

Currently on the ESF website, the priority orders are:
1. corporate NR
2. full time teaching staff
3. full time support staff
4. siblings
5. individual NR
6. internal transfer
7. alumni
8. kindergarten
9. others

Anyway I don't think sc can help much in any academic. They focus in training presentation skill more. You may consider kv instead if you want better Chinese. Or just study Chinese outside school.

對冇priority 入小一的人好
對ESF幼稚園的生意好，現在大部分小一新生有siblings priority可以讀非ESF幼稚園（甚至唔讀幼稚園），如果他們冇咗priority 要逼住讀ESF幼稚園了。同埋要讀哂兩年才有priority，kinder就常滿了

宜家ESF幼稚園生根本唔曬去番小學interview，都是小學老師來幼稚園觀察小朋友。憑呢點，梗係ESF幼稚園著數好多喇

We experienced the same situation last year, we got offers from both esf and sc too and we were struggling which one should we take. We picked esf finally and we are very happy with the school now. A very lovely and warm school community with caring and experienced teachers and staff, my son loves the school very much. Chinese is not a big concern to us coz we target to send him to overseas for university anyway. Given he lives in HK  for coming years and speaks Cantonese to his grandparents, I trust that his Chinese would be up to standard.

My son went both as I don’t know how to choose. Keep the spot to enter ESF junior later and learned more Chinese at SC. My kid was fine as he did not mind to go to one more school to play. Crazy pick-up schedule for parents though.

OMG. Hope you will make up ur mind soon and don’t keep him in 2 schools a day
