Did anyone apply for GSIS KG1 this year? Will you join the online assessment or defer the application to Y1?

Can anyone who had KG1 online assessment last year share what will it be about? Do you think it’s easier or harder than in person assessment?

K1 got the mass intake with 40 spots. Y1 only have 12spots. I think it’s easier than in person because there is no separation needed. Last year with zoom interview and 40 spots ( in the past only 20), almost all siblings can get in while only 50% or less of siblings could get in in the past.

Taking video is not difficult but staying in front of the screen during zoom interview is, for my kid

My kid got google meet class everyday, but he just walks around and doesn’t answer the teacher”s question

It’s pure assessment of the child’s english comprehension and expression. Questions are all about daily life of a 3 yo. Nothing much to be prepared as everyone gets spontaneous questions.

Regardless of the year group, GSIS doesn’t have parents interview. Only the kid’s performance is being assessed.

No question at all for parents. Parents were told not to intervene during interview.

Can I ask whether the online interview was pure conversation between kid and teacher, and talk about daily life. Or teacher use would some material and ask kid to answer certain questions accordingly. For example, teacher showed different colours and ask kids to answer, etc.
My little boy won’t talk to strangers, not sure whether teacher would encourage him to start the conversation

They asked to have child’s favorite toy ready before interview. Pretty much just casual conversation about daily life stuff and the toy picked.
