I applied Yet Ming and Wo Che 救世軍幼兒園 but only have received notication from Yet Ming (ref no.: 2003-01-008).

My daughter has passed the interview at the kindergarten in Royal Ascot and I also feel that the cost is too expensive.  

If no reply is rec'd from 救世軍, I decide to let my daughter to study playgroup in 好時光 in first half year and nursery in Royal Ascot for next half year.

I also want to share with you.

Hi Deep purple,
Thanks for your sharing. It's been a week I sent the applications to salvation army, still waiting for replies.
How is the reputation of 'Good Times' in Jubilee Garden? How often and how much of the playgroup there?
Have you considered other nursery or kindergarten in Shatin, say City one?
I don't mean to 花心, I just want to know more about our neighbourhood.

I called Yet Ming the other day and the teacher (I suppose) was very nice and patient in explaining to me the meaning of the ref no.. The first set ("2003" in your case) is the year in which the application is received. The second set ("01") is the year of birth of the kid while the third set ("008") means that you are the eighth application received in 2003 from kids born in 2001. If you want to know exactly the position of your kid among all born in 2001, you will have to call them. I believe they will tell you.

As my daughter is born in 2002, she will only be admitted to school in Jan 2004 at the earliest. Hope she will join your kid in Yet Ming.

Pls share with us more when your baby starts schooling, no matter which one your baby is in.

我大仔在2yr上好時光幼兒班(沙田廣場)個人極不喜此學校,覺得好商業,老師好惡,雖我兒是不依常規那樣,常被責罵,到現時他4yr,一提起此校都怕

是同一集團,兩校並有互相探訪活動

讀了一個學期

還記得,此校需12月交下學期什費,交了才決定退學,因當時同班也有很多人退學(全部氣管有事)我大仔亦是,12月底通知退學,當時學校說可退回全什費,三催四請,五月才收回部份約2/3,其他是給回顏色筆等,自制教材.可能是個別事例

看到其中一個家長對救世軍大窩口幼兒的意見，可供參考︰

我的大兒子就讀大窩口幼兒園高班，我覺得我的選擇是對的，值得感恩！校內上上下下的同工均十分細心，這是我每天送兒子返學放學時看到的。講到教學理念，我十分喜歡她們所有的教學方法，「計劃活動」令我的兒子充份利用思考去學習，不像一般的幼稚園只著重「教材套」的學習，十分死板！另外，「蒙特梳利」教學更令兒子的自理能力發展得更好；「英文拼音」令兒子學英文是更見輕鬆，一天，與兒子外出，他指著一隻小船，我說：「boat，你知唔知boat第一個字母是什麼？」他毫不猶疑地說：「是b」我再請他嘗試拼出來，結果他很努力地拼出bot」雖然都拼漏一個字母，但我相信這都是從救世軍大窩口幼兒園所教出來的成果，事後我問老師，老師說只教過「ship」無教過「boat」。所以，我經常向各家長推介救世軍幼兒園，無論邊一間，都是優質的學校之一。

I called Wo Che yesterday that they have received my application form and I need to wait for next year interview if they have vacancies.

Busymom,
I heard some comments on Good Times' in Jubilee Garden that it is Ok but always need to pay some extra fee.  
They have more choices on playgroup for your selection (i.e. you can choice 1 to 5 days a week) and you can ask them for more details.  I have no ideal for other nursery or kindergarten in Shatin.  Do you have any comment?

For me, I prefer Wo Che than Yet Ming as it is easier for me to take my child to school by bus.

Dear all,
I received the reply from Yat Min Nursery last week, still waiting for Wo Che.
By the way, any of you will let your children stay in Salvation Army for 4 years? Or just stay one year then change to other kinder. Do you think they learn enough stuff for P.1 in SA? Furthermore, do you have favourite primary school in mind? I like 培基小學, any comment on that?

I really don't have a clue. The chatroom on primary school did mention this school but no one talked about the enrolment time.
I asked the teacher of Wo Che Nursery when I applied, she said there is chance to get in that primary school. And that's all!

據我知培基的課程幾深,功課量也不少,家長要有心理準備,不過正如XXl說,不用那麼早去計劃孩子讀甚麼小學,而且沙田有許多不同的小學,到時幼兒園會教你點選擇一間合適你小朋友既學校架!

這也是我關心的地方啊! 幼兒園的課程會比幼稚園淺嗎? 若我真是讀四年, 然後升上課程較深的小學, 不知會否追得上. 好像杞人憂天了一點, 但我也在想將來是否還要找另一間幼稚園的問題.
我不知培基課程那麼深, 多謝提醒. 不知其餘被不少家長推崇的本區小學又如何, 請繼續指教.
