英國升學選科問題

小女是第一屆334制。原意是完成中五課程後會到英國升讀中六。但日前收學校有關選科程序，發覺小女若要選擇自已理想的科目的機會不大（因名次很後）。屆時可能會夾雜的科目有文科、又有理科。現有以下的問題，希望有家長提供寶貴資料 :

1)  英國升讀中六，是否只有文科或理科選擇？

2)  若真的在香港完成中五，才往英國升學，是否銜接上有問題。因在港在可能讀的不是全科或全科。

Nope, can be both, i.e. 文科&理科

She better goes there n study year 10 (=form 4) so that she can learn English first. Besides, the grade in HKCEE may vary when she goes to English. i.e. a B grade in HK might equiplent to only C in UK - depends on the school 's policy.

Here is a brief description of the UK educational system:

英國的中學教育制度跟香港一樣，學生年齡11至18歲，中五報考會考(英國為GCSE)，中七報考高等程度會考(英國為GCE A-Level)，從而升讀大學。 中學科目主要學習範圍包括英語文、數學、科學、社會及環境學等。故課程比香港更有彈性。學生可因應喜好選擇課程如同時選修歷史、化學及經濟科，有別於香港純文、純理及商科的限制。 根據一般學校制度，學生須於GCSE考獲最少五科合格(5C)，方能升讀中六(AS Level 或 Sixth Form)，而考入大學的A-Level成績則須視乎每所大學而定。

Thanks for your valuable information.  I have another questions,  How many subjects the students will study ?  How many in main subjects + interesting subjects ?

Do you have any suggestion that which city is better for HK student ?  Some of my friends said that I select those schools in Northern.   Because the people there are more nice.
