I want my son can speak a good English so I want send him to International school .Do you know which int's kindergartens i s cheaper?I'm lived in Hk Island.My budget is 3-4 thousand per month.Later on primany school need how much??Do you have some advise??

You may want to check the English School Foundation website to get more info.  School Fee is $4700 per mo.

I wish I knew the answer too. I think this is the struggle that a lot of parents in HK have to deal with and believe me, it's the toughest decision, unless you don't have a very high expectation towards the child's Chinese learning. But most parents do and I'm no exception.

I would say, if you can afford it, int'l school is the choice with no doubt. The only advantage of local school over int'l school is Chinese. Which, I think, if you have the 'heart', you can do it by yourself or give your child extra-curricular Chinese lessons (since they should have time after school given there're not many homeworks in int'l schools), which, is also the $$ issue. In fact, nowadays many int'l schools also emphasize Chinese and offer Chinese lessons daily, though not comparable to the standard of local school. But on the other hand, your child's English would be better and he/she will have a more enjoyable school life.

These are why I chose int'l school. Just want to giv you some 'insights'.

My girl's IS doesn't have secondary school, some of the alumni further their secondary studies in some famous local schools, ie St Paul-Co Ed....As a result, I think 國際學校可承接香港的學校.

why ?

- same campus as 蘇浙 international section
- English medium of Instruction
- only $1XXX monthly fee rather than $5XXX
- 蘇浙 local section students can play and interact with international section students
- there are int'l students studying at local section too

I think it makes a difference. Int'l school has less homework for children and they are more enjoyable, creative and inspirative as well.
