ICS (International Christian School) in Fo Tan

My son is granted an interview for the pre-Grade 1 (K.3). I would like to know more about their Kindy and Elementary.

Any mommy with kid studying in ICS Kindy or Elementary ? Please kindly share your experience & comments.

May I know when did you receive the interview letter?  Is the interview be held in January?

My son's interview will be on Jan 6. I did not receive any letter from the school, just a phone call and an email to confirm that.

My daugther studies at ICS - Kindergarten.  The teachers there are v. devoted and committed to
teaching. Very differernt from those of other schools.
She learns a lot from there and is always very happy.
The class size is around 15-17. There is a form teacher with a class assistant.  Parents are v. supportive and friendly too. A v. good school overall.

So, which grade is your daughter in ? Do you plan to have her study in ICS Elementary ?
As I know, ICS does not have much emphasis on Chinese, even in Elementary. So, are you worried about your daughter's Chinese ? What's your plan on it ?

Sorry for so many questions, but I'm going to take the interview this week and really want to have a serious analysis on it.

How long do you wait for an interview since application has sent? Do they arrange interview only when there is seat available?

I originally applied for their grade1 in 2006, just called them to 'transfer' the applicatio to Pre grade 1 (K.3) in 2005 in Nov 2004. Then, I received their call for interview around one month later.
As I understand, they only offer interview when there's a seat.

May I know when did you submit the application for grade 1, 2006?  Which kinger your kid is studying, will it help for speed up the interview queue?

I mailed them the application for Grade 1 in Apr 2004. My son is studying in Anfield International Kindergarten. I don't know if this will help him get a priority in their interview queue. Can try to ask for you tmr after the interview.

Are you interested in ICS ? As I'm now choosing between ICS and Phoenix, would like to hear more people's viewpoints/comments on both schools. Please share.

Did you receive the letter for confirmation of the application? If yes, how long did you wait to receive it? I sent the application about two weeks ago but I still have not received any reply.

I am moving to Fotan end Jan and I don't know which Kindergarten I should apply for my twin boys.  We are not Christians and not sure if it's good to consider putting them there?  Any thoughts will be highly appreciated.  Any other good kindergartens we should consider as well?

As I remember, I received a email confirmation from them instead of a letter. Maybe you can call them to confirm. Their people are very nice.

Oh, its sounds a big thing !! you mean they are going to be in trouble for running or what ? why they are going to lose their land and grant (as I don't know that they have got any subsidy from the gov't except the land) ? Is your son's case just one single exceptional occasion ? How was it settled ? So, did you pay them the reservation fee ? Did they refund to you ? Where is your son studying now ?
As my son had just attended their interview today and if they are going to offer him a place, I'm going to pay them a reservation fee of $5000 next week and I'm really seriously considering and evaluating whether to put my son in their school (vs Phoenix) from this coming Sept
So, please please reply to me asap.

i c.  if you don't mind (or you can pm me), can you tell me what exactly is the problem of your son according to them ? Sounds it's something about his English standard ? Was he transferred to ICS from a local school. But I agree with you, nevertheless, if it's them making the mistake, they should be the one to think of and do the remedy and at least they need to officially apologise for that.
While, referring to your another point, why you said they will be in trouble for the land and funding very soon ?
