My daughter was born in Dec., 2001.  We would like to apply for RC.  Do they still accept application at this moment ?  If yes, which grade shall we apply ?  Grade 1 or Grade 2 (for coming 2007 semester) ? Is the application queue shorter than other ESF ?

Is there anybody know about the Chinese standard ?  I notice that RC is emphasize on Chinese (by using Putonghua), but what would be the approximate level of Chinese Standard as compared with local school ?

朋友話，佢孩子班內中文分三組，
程度高的一組，孩子都係來自 local band 1 school，
程度中間的一組，都係來自國際學校的華裔學生，
程度低的一組，都有來自國際學校的華裔學生，及外籍學生。
聽說，程度高的一組，用的是比 local school 低一級的課本，而三組的人數相約。
我唔覺得 RC 強調中文，我只覺得佢地的確係以 "有中文學" 為賣點，但係通常國際學校的中文水平，始終跟 local school 差得遠，我識讀耀中和漢基的孩子，話係有中文學，話係中文課程強，但都係唔可能同 local school 比。
我去過兩三次 RC，peter kenny 在家長會講過，RC 只係一間有中文學的國際學校，佢地唔係 ( 將來亦唔會係 ) bi-lingual 的國際學校 ( 耀中和漢基好像都話自己 bi-lingual，但都唔係個個學生真係中文咁好 )，係一間 english medium ，以英語為主的國際學校，暫時看來比其他 ESF 多少少中文，但係長遠來講，ESF 會加強中文，因此將來型式係近似，佢地重點係英語，課程亦以英語教授，佢都叫家長唔好要求佢地同 local school 比中文。
今年 RC 好多學生係由 local band 1 school 考入，因此中文程度看來高，可能未來一兩年都係中文會唔錯，但睇趨勢，由 local school 插班入的學生都少了 ( 今年佢地似乎都主要收來自其他國際學校的學生插班 )，而 year 1 入讀的，亦係來自 esf 或其他國際幼稚園。而且，如果學校以英語教學，學生始終接觸中文的時間機會都少很多；如果咁都做都同 local school 一樣，就真係神奇喇，要求國際學生的中文有 local school 的水平，我估真係冇可能。
不過，RC 及其他 ESF 學校的中文老師真係好好，聽說 ESF 最近挖了好多個其他國際學校的中文老師，唔知 RC 有冇。
咁講啦，學校係想搞好中文，係想學生中文好，
但我覺得現實歸現實，個別學生有天分，有興趣，當然可以中英都能夠掌握得好好；但係大部份，都未必會能與 local school 學生比。

Thanks for the information.  Of course I notice that the Chinese standard for International school should be lower than local school, but I do not know how many levels lower.

Now I have more information about the Chinese standard in RC.  It is not bad as initially I thought it might be at least 3 years lower.
