I would say, if you can afford it, int'l school is the choice with no doubt. The only advantage of local school over int'l school is Chinese. Which, I think, if you have the 'heart', you can do it by yourself or give your child extra-curricular Chinese lessons (since they should have time after school given there're not many homeworks in int'l schools), which, is also the $$ issue. In fact, nowadays many int'l schools also emphasize Chinese and offer Chinese lessons daily, though not comparable to the standard of local school. But on the other hand, your child's English would be better and he/she will have a more enjoyable school life.
These are why I chose int'l school. Just want to giv you some 'insights'.
