Re: Boxhill International Kindergarden
My girl is a little bit older than yours, she was born in Jan 2002, she is 3 years old now.. We have visit boxhill on November and think it is good. Actually, I prefer my kid study in international school.. I live in Sai Kung.. I have visit Abacus in clear water bay.. they are good..but like other local Parents..we still consider the Chinese languague problem in International school.. And after talking with the lady in boxhill, I think it will be a good choice.. that children will learn English, chinese and putongua also..
but unfortunately, as I live in so far from school, I can't find a school bus to take my girl to school, therefore, the problem just can be solved recently that I want my girl to go back to school after Easter..
I like the school because the teacher to student ratio is really good.. 3 to 22 (that you can hardly find such ratio is the Kowloon tong famous school) that I want my girl can be developed according to her own ability..as I do not perfer my girl to go to local school, therefore I don't need to think about the transition from kinder to local primary school. I just want her to have a happy, stress free and creativity learning environment.
I have due with the lady in charge there, she is not so commerical, she show to me that she really care about the student...but not only the money.. therefore, I really want my girl to go there as my girl really need to learn the people communication skill as she normally won't like to play with other kids..
For me, I do think 2 will be too young for school, but it is my opinion, a lot of mommies think it will be a right age for school..normally my girl is take care by grandmom and granddad in day time that she had lots of things to do.. but I think if the baby is take care by nanny.... school will be a good choice for kids..
I think you can start with playgroup to see whether you / your kid like the school / their teachers first...
since different people have different like/dislike.. it will be waste a lot if you kid really don't like the school if after you paid for school fee.. buy the uniform..compare to that, the 200 per hour playgroup fee won't be that much...
