If u really fear that your children would pick up 'Singlish', simply forget about SIS. There must be good points about the school that parents put their children there.

The curriculum on the whole should be looked at when considering what is best for our children. When I handed in the form for PY1, I did hear 'Singlish' along the corridor but I also know SIS students who speak in a very nice English accent. I certainly hope that my daughter could get in. I've made a lot of enquiries before coming to this decision. 'Singlish' is but just a minor point.

As I said, if u don't like it, u don't have to choose it. I won't regret if my daughter studies there.

Why should I regert to put my kids in SIS? I also not interest if SIS is a "real" international school or not.
Singapore accent reflects that we are Singaporean but it does not insult us. I don't feel ashamed with my status.

I live in HK Parkview with many foreign neighbours and their kids are namely with HKIS, KIS JIS, KIS, GSIS, CNDIS, SIS, FIS... our kids play together and no one bother about "decent" English. Going global and accomadate differences.

If u don't mean to be serious, why should u be bothered about people being 'right' or 'wrong' on BK? This is just a forum for parents to air their views, not a place for arguing. So there's no question of whether the argument is 'sound' or not, as u put it. It's purely pathetic for one to argue merely for the sake of arguing

How do you define non-Singaporean ?
There are approximately 597 millions non Singaporeans live in the earth. Of course, you can represent non-Singaporean but you sampling is 1/597,000,000.
You like red, but please do not condemn those who like other colours. I prefer black to red is distoring the logic?
I read other's opinion and analyse, had never got misleading easily. It is naive!( I was thinking of using another word "SXXXXD") to think that your belief is totally right and want to correct others.

Respect others is one of the noblest virtues.

BK is a good place to exchange idea. It's an open forum and everyone could has his or her personal view.  Yet, I personally feel sad whenever I see someone doesn't respect others particularly with words that may hurt the heart of other people.  

My comment doesn't mean to spark off a quarrel as I don't like arguing but just like sharing.
