I agree with Salami's view.  Actually, the question whether the "negative points" quoted by Alam are really negative depends on different viewpoint.  My daugher went to Kingston's 1-year old and 2-year class and we were quite happy with the school and my daughter had learnt a lot during the past two years especially the Mandarin.  

As regards the snacks for the kids, you may check their menu posted at the school entrance.  Comparing their snacks with other kindergarten (such as Yew Chung), I found that the food prepared by Kingstom is satisfactory.

My daughter is now in K1 of a local kindergarten.

Whether Kingston is good depends on parent' expectation and the kid's characteristics.  In my case, I sent my girl to Kingston two years ago because she was the only child then and I didn't want her to stay with the maid all day long doing nothing (cause I'm a working mum) but at the same time, I wanted  her to be exposed to some environment with native English and Mandarin speakers.  We didn't have much expectation but it turned out that my girl had benefits a lot from the school.

Apart from free play time, Kingston has teaching programme even for 1-year-old class and there will be different topics/themes every 2 or 3 weeks and children will learn around the topics/themes.  The teachers are nice and maintain good communication with parents.

I have already submitted the application form for the 1 year old class for my baby boy (now 7 months' old) so that he can be enrolled next year.  Maybe, our boys will be classmates next year.

Thank you for your information. I am also a working mun. I have the same reason as yours and want my baby boy to expose to native English and Mandarin speaking environment.

We have to wait until August next year for the 1 year old class. Yes, our little boys maybe the classmates.

Why your daughter not study Kingston kindergarden?

Even the 1 year old class, there will be an interview. What is the questions to be asked in the interview? Any preparation?

The word "characteristics" in my earlier reply should be "characters".  Sorry for the mistakes.

Back to your question.  My daughter doesn't stay in Kingston because (a) my hubby insists her to receive mainstream education and (b) she is admitted to a good local kindergarten.

I don't quite remember what have been asked in the interview 2 years ago.  It was only a little chat with the admission officer and we had not done any preparation works.

Moreover, I am still struggling between local primary school and international one (you know, the Government proposed 334 new education system). Very difficult decision.

For those who are interested in this school, I can say your money is worth.  My sister's daughter is studying there since N1, and now she is P.2.  At the beginning, I also doubt if this is workable and money worth.  Nowadays, I can see her both English and Mandarine is very fluent.  She can read and write English well.  She can present her project work in front of the parents. Although I give high score to this school, but you still have to consider the followings before you admit.
1. Don't expect your kid will have a great change for only one or two years
2. If you want to switch back to local school, don't waste your money at N1 or even K1.  You can't see the different or say, your kid will forget what he/she has learnt before.
3. The knowledge that your kid acquire is less than other traditional schools, you may start questioning if your kid can really learn things.
4. Of course,the most important is $$$
Simply speaking, if you want to choose this school, you have to invest time and $$$.

I am also planning to send my son to school as early as possible, as I am a working mum and also don't want him to stay with my maid and doing nothing all day long.  Just called Kingston and found that they are going to have an open day on 20 Nov, from 10:00am to 4:00pm, may be you could also go there and take a look.

He was studying on 2nd Nov 2004. So, I don't have any comment yet. By the way, I suggest you better visit to the school when they are open date.

Nice to meet you here.  I am also considering Anfield which admits babies of 1 1/2yr. old, I will call and check if they have open day and then let you know.  In fact, my son already attended playgroup when he was 6 mths old, so I wanted to continue this practise for him, instead of sitting at home and doing nothing.  How about you?

Nice to meet you. My son also attended playgroup since he is 7.5 months old. He attended KinderU.

I heard that Anfield is good also but focus on English more than Chinese. You can also consider Victoria which also offer classes for 1 year old.

By the way, where you live?? close to kowloon Tong? I live in Tung Chung and very far from those school. Very difficult to think.

I live in Choi Hung, so it is quite close to Kowloon Tong.  Where is Victoria?  No idea tim.      Wow you live in Tung Chung, it is really very far, I also worked in CLK before, but now in Admiralty.  How's playgroup in KinderU?  I am also looking for some other playgroups with Dec 03 mamas.

Victoria will open a new school in Ho Man Tin. This new school has playgroup, nursary and kindergarden. They have international stream with English and Mandarin as teaching medium. Sound good and cheaper than Kingston. You can visit their wedsite: http://203.85.122.68/victoria/
