Re: ICS P1 interview
tommyzoe and cherylmum,
ICS has a higher academic standard than ESF I personally think. I know that ICS student, starting from 3rd grade...will have lots of homework to do. They have more homeworks than any other international schools. They emphasize a lot on academic performances while ESF is more lay-back.
You also have to learn at least one music instrument starting from grade 3 or grade 5 (I don't quite remember). I know some kids, they learn 2 instruments too! I think one of the reasons why is because they want our kids to at least have something (musical) to serve the church...
Sports and Arts are very important at ICS also.
Some parents whom I talk to actually are concerned that ICS has too much homeworks for their kids. I personally think that homeworks are okay as long as they teach in an interesting and inspiring way. You guys agree? Besides, I definately agree that ICS kids are more independent, and well behaved than other kids. ESF secondary school kids are quite "scary" ...because I heard too much about them taking drugs etc...but with ICS...high school kids there know what they need to do, but are not "nerdy". I met some of the ICS high school kids at my church and they volunteer to play guitar and drums at the praise and worship team...and have to admit that they are very talented but humble. Also, they are willing to come to church every Friday nite to rehearse. No one forces them, they do it by their own wishes. I mean...it is Friday nite! For other kids, they would definately go do something else on Friday nite! I wish my children will be willing to do this when they grow up!
