Actually for kids from local schools, there will be some new international school choices for them in 06 and 07, ESF has 2 new private schools catered for local kids with primary and secondary:

1. Renaissance College in Ma On Shan by 9/2006
2. ESF Discovery Bay College in Discovery Bay by 9/2007

The 2 schools teach traditional Chinese daily, 80% class in English, 20% in Chinese, use through train IB programs, with new and large campus with excellent facilities, ideal for local kids.

Or, there are other IS like schools with IB programs on HK side:
- ISF at Cyberpot and
- Victoria at Aberdeen by 2007

Thanks for yr info.  We are on HK Island so it could be too far for us to consider RC or ESF DBC though the curriculum you mentioned is very attractive to us.

Which schools are you targeting now?  I would consider CIS first and then Victoria Shanghai Academy and ESF.

If my daughter cannot get into the desirable ESF schools in Kowloon, I will consider RC or DB.  DB is in fact very good as there are more western kids, very little attraction around (no shopping mall), has more open space etc.   Actually it is a good choice for kids from HK Island too (just take the ferry).

Thanks for sharing. Did you apply CIS? Have you kid done the entry test or interview? I am interested in VSA, and attended their briefing. The concept is good. What do you think?

No, I haven't applied CIS yet but will plan to do it next academic year.

I guess I will not consider VSA at this moment, 'cause teachers' turnover is high according to my friend.  I hope they could make it better.
