Thx readymama. Do you know how's the school nationality mix? The principal said foreigners have the priority for admission. But I saw 90% is local family today.... Personally I think a greater variety of student nationality means more opportunity to gain international friendship.

There are a lot expatriates are also originated from Asia nowadays. Eg Japanese,  Korean,  Indian. not necessary westerners or blonde. Also those westerners stay in group more in Hk island or Sai Kung areas. most important is the education enviroment,  vision offered tie with what you are after. Schools like SIS, ICS ,JIS also have more asian, or hong konger, they are still very popular. It is because the curriculum offered match groups of parents want.

我女講係英文字母，同數字sequence, 即佢俾1 , 後面跟住係mug.  同玩play dough, 用麵粉團製，睇下可唔可以明白指令同肌肉動作，坐唔坐得定之類，因佢interview email 寫明考eng, math, cognitive skill, social skill. 每個小朋友俾兩張label, 之後分color in group of 4 or 5 上樓，parents係唔同埋一起亦無需in parents, 考小朋友會否無parents下會大哭，因有d 外藉小朋友應未開始番學，一開始係4歲考5 歲讀reception /prep, 所以佢地要同其他人上樓考驚同喊。

We are one of those expats in town. Why Im asking is because according to my observation, more local in the school will turn to be more agreesive on the academic side purely... Anyway, thx for your advice and good luck to your daughter.

Yes, education is also one of the problem keeping expat away from hk. Expensive,  high competition and aggressive academic. Comparing to Singapore, they do much better support and balance to local and expat. Sigh..

Currently the Principal has a family name of Crowhurst. This is only his second or third year with CAIS. So soon is he going to leave? Previously he's the science subject head (or maths subject head, I do not remember exactly) with another famous IS in HK.

Interview 個日校長係lookso exhausted. 不過d international 校長係係一間校做4- 5 年就會轉下，因佢地唔會留係comfort zone, 會不斷選下一個挑戰，而且呢幾年亞洲對international schools 需求大左，香港只係中國一個省分，中國其他省分，亞洲其他國家都不斷開新校，走是遲早。

But the previous CAIS' preparatory principal spent at least 10 years before she embarked on a new journey to a country of Southeast Asia 2 or 3 years ago, and that was the time when the exhausting-looking principal came to CAIS.

can i ask if the reference form must be filled in by the KG ? can it be filled in by other learning institutes that the student is studying in ?

Besides, is it the form must be sent directly to CAIS from the school but not from the applicant ?

The form should be filled by the recent school.  You'd better ask CAIS if it's okay to be filled in by other learning institutions.  But from the previous threads it seems that it's okay if you come clear with a reason that you can't have this reference form.

The form is sent directly by the recent school, not via the applicant.

is it foreign passport holders had interview on 10 Jan while those with hk passport will have interview on 17 Jan? thanks

I dont think so. It is more due to the date you submit. i submitted jan 2014  for entry on prep 2015
