Yes, some classes of TY seems to have poor result this year comparing with past years!

May I ask how do you know they will have 2nd interview?

Hi! I have a separate question but since so many ESF or potential ESF parents are here, it's a good venue to ask. With the fee hike of ESF, the fee is already similar to other international schools in HK. How come so many people are still wanting to go ESF, while there are other options? Do you believe ESF offer better education than other IB In't school? Or are there other factors?

I suppose it's because of the long history with good track records and relatively low tuition fee

I think most other international schools are as popular as ESF.
As far as I heard, it has been really hard to get a place even with some newer schools.
However, there are more schools within the ESF group and it appears more people are talking about ESF.

Yes seems reasonable. But when my friends with esf NR got directly rejected, they still seem very reluctant to pay a new IS school's debenture

I would be reluctant to use one or two cases as pointer.
Each family has their own priorities.

There are people that want ESF SO BAD (look at the already banned topic/member). However there are also many parents that got more than one offers including ESF offers, might eventually choose to give up ESF for other schools. You can see that in another topic, many people are now getting Y1 wait list offers from different ESF schools during the last few days.

You and I like ESF more and so we put out children in ESF. But not everyone consider ESF top choice.

In that case your friends would get their $50,000 NR deposit back, the only money they've paid to ESF would be the application fee, the same as everybody else who applied.

NR is a right to have priority towards getting an interview, and debenture is a different thing altogether.

For KJS, offer has been given to around #50 on the reserved list. Today some ESF kindie kids who were invited to second interview actually got offered a place after kindergarten visit by KJS.

For last year’s Y1 admission, SJS had around 40 kids on reserve list and they did call most if not all in the end. Hope it helps.

Do you have the figure for Bradbury’s reserve list? We just received an interview offer for reserve list for Bradbury. Thanks

年年情形不同，不用執著。
申請人年年人數一定比學位數目多。
如果今年個個小朋友都表現出色，競爭自然大。另一方面，如果多數表現麻麻，而自己小朋可以有好表現，咁就冇問題。
考學校非抽獎，唔係計 probability。
200 人爭 100 個位，並不等於個個人有 50% 機會。
舉例，如果完全唔識講英文，可能機會係 0%。
Outgoing ，講嘢清楚，可能機會係 80% 。
