My son is 16 mths now. He holds canadian citizenship. I want him to study in LS in elementary level to learn better chinese and probably take him to IS in grade 8 or 10 as a prep for sending him to uni in canada. Just wonder if its difficult to get into CIS in grade 8 or above switching from LS. And is it a must to buy the debentures and how much would it be? I heard that its not easy to get into CIS even if holding a canadian citizenship, is that true?

Do you mean CDNIS - Canadian International School or CIS - Chinese International School?

Not sure how easy it is since I only know one Canadian friend who tried before and they were not successful

My son is studying in CDNIS Grade 7 now and he just transferred to this school from LS this year after primary 6.Last year when I applied for CDNIS,the administration officer said that Grade 7 would have a new class with 25 spots which means a higher chance than other grade. All other grades need to be on waiting list.
