What kinder do you child study?  My child studies at ESF Kinder but still do not received and invitation.

My kid is not studying in an ESF Kindergarten, just a local kinder which pay more attention in the development of English language.

I have the impression that RC would invite applicants for interview on first-come-first serve basis as I submitted the application for my kid on the first day or the second when open to application. Btw, your child is in ESF Kinder, did you apply for primary school under ESF rather than RC which is under ESL. If so, the invitations should be sent out before the end of Autumn Term, i.e. second half of December.

One more thing, my kid cannot be the only applicant for Y1 at RC, I wonder why no response from those who are invited or probably they do not visit this site.

Did you state that RC is your second priority while ESF is the first?  If then, RC's interview will be offered only if ESF's interview is not available.

I also received the invitation last Sat and the interview time is 10:00am on 2 Dec. I don't think we need any particular preparation. I just tell my daughter that we will have a visit to a primary school on Sat and some of the teachers will ask her some questions and play games with her. Just to make her psychologically prepared.

I also applied for other ESF school and only learned from others that an email was sent out to the parents telling them the admission policy and the priority system. I did not receive the email nor any kind of information regarding the admission exercise. ESF is still poorly administered despite it has good teachers.

Perhaps I set RC as priority 1 and they just ignored my application?

I have applied RC and ESF, but RC is my first choice.  I have received messages from ESF, but nothing from RC...why......

Glad to see this topic here!

My son will have the interview at RC on 2 Dec (this Sat) 10:00am.  As he is now studying in a local kinder, i'm worry he will not perform well in the interview .  Personally, I found RC is very helpful and organized.  They said the principal will take us to walk around the school after the interview.

we have the same interview time and hope to see you there .  do you think we need to prepare a profile for the interview?  I asked the lady in the school and she said no need.  don't know true or not? any comment?

Hi makusma,

I will not prepare any profile for the interview as I believe the school would assess the child by his/her own merits. I may be simple and naive but I just hate doing this. The profile does not reflect the child's own character and achievement but his/her parents.

Having said that I will not rule out preparing a profile for my child as it may be the rule of the game for some other schools but for RC I trust it is not necessary.

I will start preparing a profile for satisfying the insatiable appetite and self-aggrandizement complex of some of the primary school principals. Although my choice is to put my child in RC or other non-traditional school but I will also join this game to play safe.

Portfolio --- absolutely not necessary! RC is not looking for children whose parents are good at packaging! After all, what could one expect to see in a five-year-old's so called portfolio?

I have the same thought as yours, persoanl profile / profolio is the rule of game in the local primary school and it's the technique of packaging.
