Re: CDNIS Vs SIS
Unfortunately, my nieces are considered slightly above average in academics among their classmates. The reason that my sister-in-law arranges so many private lessons with her daughters is that she feels the academics of ESF to be a bit lacking in some respects. However, I would like to emphasize that she likes the school very much. She does encourage me to apply despite her kids' extremely busy after school schedule.
I would also like to point out that the spoken level which I mentioned is happening to one of my nieces. As I mentioned, atmosphere at home is very important as well. My niece is rather shy, and even her mom as well as her teacher notice a problem. She is in 3rd grade, FYI.
Mingling between western and local children is another way to lead the kids to speak more English. Apart from my nieces and nephews as examples, my baby was invited to my neighbor's child's birthday party last week. The child (western) now attends 1st grade at ESF Glenealy. Out of the 20 or so children invited to the party, only one was Chinese (not counting my baby). |
