My son loves Enormous Crocodile most too.
If Edith likes EC, I think she'll love Giraffe, the Pelly and me as well. You may check out the newer version of The Giraffe, the Pelly and me from the public library which has colorful illustration as Enormous Crocodile. As the old version doesn't have colorful pictures. (Probably, the magic finger is not so attractive as EC or Giraffe, since the pictures are in B&W only.)
BTW, girls should love Matilda by DH. (Actually, I love this story much.) The story is quite long (>100pages) and is more suitable for elder kid P2/P3+.
