Do international schools teach Chinese Language?

Knowing that these schools teach students Mandarin, I want to know whether they teach the students to read and to write Chinese or not? Do they just teach students to speak Mandarin? If our children can just 'speak' Mandarin but don't have strong mastery of Chinese Language, how can they work in China as China will most probably be the largest job market for the new generation?

Don't worry. They definitely can write. My child write over 200 works for chinese composition in primary 3.

It seems that you have mixed up something. Mandarin is the formal language in China, therefore, Chinese lessons are conducted in Mandarin. Students are required to, of course, read Chinese books and write in Chinese. Even local school students need to read Chinese books and write in Chinese for their Chinese lessons.

Whether our children learn simplied Chinese or traditional Chinese is not really very important. The key concern is whether they can master to read, write and speak the language proficiently.

It sounds very solid. Everyday has a lot of activities already. Don't worry la... they can learn enough for their ages.

Actually, I personally think creative is more important than memberization.

The kid will have chance for after-school activities even he takes school bus ?

So the kids are learning two types of Chinese characters at school too ?
