but from the school sites, it seems like the school introduces intself as an international school but with a strong chinese awareness background.... so their chinese textbooks are from china, does that mean they teaches simplified chinese? May i ask besides the chinese, how about their english standards, and also how about the teachers there? my son is also two years now , i am also considering this school for primary, becos it teaches mandarin and english, which i think is very essential for them in the future. and the price for school fees seems reasonable, and it's a new school campus, plus it has hongkong's biggest library. Exploration and Reading are both very important for a child while growing up.
As far as I remember, I think they have never explicitly claimed to be an international school. Although, the school has been described as a "localised interntional school", I think this was merely a marketing tool. They have once profiled themselves, though, to be a school adopting IB cirriculum, and adopting the teaching methodology of international schools. However, these have been pulled out from their profile a long time ago. At present school seems to be re-directing themselves to be an "alternative" to traditional local school.
Because of the cirriculum (they have to follow local Hong Kong cirruculum since they are a DSS), I think you would expect similar Chinese and English standards from a typical local school. |
