local primary school to international school

I have similar thinking as you, but as discussed with some headmasters in international schools, most said that the gap of local and international schools is already too large at P.6, so it is very difficult for the kid to pass the entrance test of F.1.  They accept kids who can manage to study all subjects in fluent English.  English standard of IS is at least 1 to 2 years above local schools.

So I need to consider changing to IS earlier.

I have a friend whose daughter is p3 In famous girls' school apply international school. On waiting list only.

The girl's English is good. But local and international school teaching English curriculum. Thus it is not easy to pass the entry test.

So have you applied any school for your son yet? I have tried Phoenix, but no vacancies available.  Have to wait.
