Chances to get into VSA from Vic's Kindergarten

Can anyone share their insights over:

1) what is the approximate ratio of acceptance from a) Vic's Kindergarten b) debenture holders c) overseas applicants in the past two years?
(i understand parents can be having both a&b or b&c, just an estimate will be very good)

2) is it true that graduates from particular campuses have higher chances to get into VSA?
(their website shows the approximate ratio for campuses in HKI is roughly 30-almost 50%)

3) understanding that competition is keen at VSA, what can be done to increase chances for a kid from vic's kindy? say attending language/math/arts/sports classes and needs to enter competitions??

4) is there a particular type of kid/parents the school is looking for?

1) for 2017 intake, 500 kindergarten kids for 160 seats. Chance is quite high, must accept if sibling is studying at VSA already. 2) debtenture - high chance 3) overseas - nobody knows. 2) homantin and HG have fewer people becoz most will go to other kln schools already for traffic reason. Don't think vsa is biased to hk island schools. 3 higher chance - joining their whole day class or train your kids to be equally competent in Chinese and eng, good manner n willing to speak up. The chance of being called waiting is high as many will forgeit the 5 month deposits for better one finally.

Oh 2017 only hv 500 applicants ? I heard that recents year have over 1200 applicants for 120 seats only .So 2017 is really much less competitive

And heard from hmt that only 2-3 kids per class got offer from vsa in the 1st round.Also a rumor saying that priority will be given to Bilingual class as well.

My info maybe piecemeal..FYI. I applied in k2 last year for this year sept intake. I applied on the last day n based on my application number n the interview of that day, I think 500-600 for around 150 places (each year is different, some year they offer 6 classs n this year they offer 5). Re the chance of call-waiting, I think the chance is decent... we pay 5x deposits to hold the seat and zero refund after nov 30 last year . So for those who have better offers after dec, it is up to them when to release coz there isn't any monetary compensation. Our campus only offers trilingual class, no eng n mandarin n hence can't compare. But per my girl, only 1-2 simple mandarin Qs are asked in group interview n no prob. For 2nd one, it is family interview n we choose Cantonese. No disadv either.

Some kids don't apply vsa at all, some have siblings studying at local schools, some incline primary or DSS n don't need expensive VSA back up. Some in kln find it too far away... I think the chance of having second interview is half-half , n the chance of second to final is more than half. This is much better than other DSS or private school.

I heard VSA released results in July for 2018/2019 intake.  Competition should be keen in the year of Dragon and VSA allows parents to hold the position until Local school allotment (Big lucky draw result).  Usually VSA kicks off interview very early in April and quite a lot of Victoria parents apply for it first for backup and warm up purpose.

幾年前小學校長講過8人爭一個位，以6班小一每班25人即25 x 6 x8 =1200人申請。現VSA小一只收維幼學生及debenture holders, 申請人數自然少了

They allow parents to keep the offers until the announcement of results of the final lucky draw?? do you mean parents still have to make deposits to secure the offer or they can make their final decision later?

Parents need to make deposits to secure the offers while it is fully refundable before certain cut off date.

Before Aug 31, 70 percent refund; before Nov 30 half; none (till lucky draw in June next year) - none

May I ask, upon the change of the school management in 2018, will it affect the chance of getting into VSA in different campus?  From the letter issued, it seems that CWB campus is their 「親生仔」 whereas other campus will be governed by another school sponsoring body.
Or have I mis-understood?

From what the principal said and quoted by poonseelai above, there shoudnt be any changes to apply for VSA

But everyone will ask the same question why all campuses except cwb?
Only the school management will know the real answer..
