Hi, any comments from this school? seems there’s not much discussion in this forum.
I have just received the offer for KG2. Initially, I had applied for the annual captital levy. However, they e-mail me and ask me to consider purchasing a debenture, in order to secure a place.
The debenture is a considerable amount,
HK$600,000. And we are still waiting for results of Harrow and Malvern. Actually, I know the chance of Harrow is really slim. But is it worth to pay such a large amount to a new school?
Are there anyMoms with kids at ASHK (American School Hong Kong) at new Territories:
Do you like this school? Are kids happy to go to school? Are you satisfied with the curriculum?
Is it worth to pay such a large amount to a new school? <<< no one can really answer that for you, and it is a matter of your choice.
According to their website, it is Non-transferable, and exempted from Annual Capital Fee for the first seven years of attendance.
From your post, it seems that it is a choice you can make, paying annual capital fee or pay the $600k.
I am guessing the best is talk to the school and address your questions, go visit for a school tour.
:)
The principal of ASHK is the former head of the Canadian International School and a lot of the teachers there are former teachers of Canadian International School, should be pretty good, I guess
Initially, I choose the option of “Annual Capital Levy”. After the assessment, they said my son could secure the KG2 place once we pay the debenture . It just take one day for them to send out the result and I am curious that they look for who will eager to pay the debenture .
I know I haven’t got any foreign passport and the Education Bureau requires that they limit the number of Hong Kong passport holders to 30%. I am wonder why they could release the offer just one day after assessment.
Well, most new schools won't be full for the 4-5 years or even longer, plus too many schools in Tai Po, so parents gonna have more choices. The school just want you to pay debenture la....
