ESF Hillside Kinder vs HK True Light Kinder

What would you chose between:

ESF Hillside vs HK True Light Kinder?  Got offer acceptance of K1 of both school.  Struggling which one to choose.

兩間好吾同喎，一間國際，一間傳统本地。要睇將來想行那條路，想英文強還是中文強。如果想將來行國際嗰條路，當然要早啲讀國際幼稚園有著數，現在國際學校學位非常緊張，如果讀真光，將來想入國際學校Y1會好難入。

Thank you for your reply. I understand these two K are totally different syllabus.  The problem I have now:
1. I have great concerns of local mainstream education system, that's why consider IB in the first place.

2. True Light (Tai Hang) is band ONE, good reputation, big school with a lot of facilities and have connected Primary and Secondary school, which save us a lot of trouble in securing a place at a later stage.

ESF, after reading many posts, I worry my girl may not be able to secure a place for the Y1 at QBS after 3 years at ESF Hillside.  Then we need to look for others IS.  The long dragging process of applications and interviews which we experience for PN and K1 is like a nightmare.

Does anyone know what is the % of ESF QBS P1 will admit from ESF Hillside?

Please clarify what you mean.

I suggest that you should read through the ESF kindergartens and primary schools webpage carefully first before you make your decision.

THE ESF kindergartens are of 2-year duration, which is K1 & K2 only. Unlike the local kindergartens, there is no K3 and the students will go to Year 1 in ESF primary schools (fingers crossed).

1. ESF hillside does not guarantee a place at QBS, and True Light does not guarantee a place at it's primary either.

2. Technically it is possible and doable for a True Light Kindy students to be admitted to QBS and do well, but it would be harder for a ESF kindy student to be admitted to True Light, both the timing (ESF only offer until K2 ) and Chinese level won't work.

It might be safer for you to take TL offer, apply for QBS when your daughter is in K2, if rejected then apply for TL primary in K3 if you don't really know which direction you would like your daughter to take yet at this point.

I think is a matter of which way you want to go, local or IS, rather than which school is easier to get a through train route. Btw I believe the chance of hillside to get into ESF primary should be near 100%.

住港島區，又有esf kinder priority , even 最多人報的QBS, 都有位收冇priority 的學生（即所有達標的esf kinder 也收哂）。咁入esf 又有咩好擔心呢？最緊要唔好搬出港島。

Totally agree!

Knowing that TL is a local school which follows mainstream education, choosing TL would defeat the purpose as in pt 1 @ #3.

Giving up HS means giving up ESF kindy priority, would minimise the chance of getting into QBS.
Then sticking to traditional system would well be the only option left.

X2, TL is not very top and good, despite of curriculum, I bet esf is so much stronger
